Summary

After a tough year losing her mom and bills mounting, Holly Yates is in for a lonely Christmas. But when she hears a news report that the small principality of Coronia is looking for their lost princess, Holly is astounded to recognize the baby photo. It’s her!

Felix, also a Coronia royal, whisks Holly into her very own fairy tale, including a castle nestled within the quaint snow-covered Coronia capitol. With Felix by her side as she meets the people of her would-be kingdom and prepares to attend a ball in her honor, Holly begins to fall in love, not just with Coronia, but also with the would-be prince.

Will the handsome prince still be at the side of this unexpected fairy-tale princess when the clock strikes midnight?

A GREAT LISTEN

I have listened to a few books by Scarlet Wilson and they have all been good. Some of her books have been made into films. This was festive which i love and an enjoyable listen. It reminded me of a fairytale. Yes i recommend it and it is in the PLUS CATALOGUE, so you can listen without spending a credit👍

mostly relaxing 😌

emotional hopeful inspiring lighthearted relaxing sad tense
3.75 ⭐

Better than "Rescuing the Prince" which is also on the Plus catalogue. The main character in this one is a kind, strong young woman, who isn't trying to sabotage things. Didn't care for the drama during the last hour, but otherwise it was a moderately relaxing listen, narration was good and it was clean. Unfortunate that the Kingdom is called Coronia ,which is so close to Corona virus.

Content Warnings
Graphic: Cancer

Minor: War, Death of parent, Grief, and Infertility

other: Angst, narcissistic person, public humiliation
the Story Graph is good if you're a person who needs content warnings on titles,Audible doesn't seem to have that as a feature yet unfortunately.

absolute tosh

It was free, but honestly it really was absolute rubbish. All about a saint of a girl who didn't know that she was adopted finding out she is a princess and discovering a priceless ring, an heirloom noless in a cupboard, and an amazingly handsom almost prince... I can't believe i am writng this.. anyway join the dots....

A Royal Hallmark Princess.

I really wanted to like this and saw that it was rated highly and gave it a go because I love Princess stories. I really couldn't bring myself to finish this one.

The story at least to me was very predictable and repetitive. I felt some details were ridiculously similar to the Princess Diaries. Especially Coronia itself. A principality between France and Italy??? That's a bit on the nose to Genovia which is also a principality between France and Italy?? I wish there was a little more creativity there.

Also the romance between the character and love interest ran a bit flat to me. I say this story is repetitive because the a good portion of interactions between the main characters....it's always about the love interest's eyes. It was getting boring and a bit dull.

This book does have a Hallmark feel even from the title alone. And I'm not scrutinizing the people who do like it. (Like seriously I'm glad they could enjoy this for me!!) But I couldn't stomach this. It's not a story meant for me and that happens. Other than that if you like stories like this go for it!!

Heartfelt romance story

This was a real lovely romance story. Definitely worth a listen. A modern twist on a fairy tale.

The book version of a Hallmark movie

I found the story to be like a Hallmark movie: a bit corny, rather predictable but overall pleasant and enjoyable.
The performance was good.
