Summary

From the best-selling author of Villa of Sun and Secrets.

Take time out to find what makes you happy....

When retreat owner Amy offers three lucky competition winners a holiday on the Cote d’Azur, she has no idea that this act of kindness will have life-changing repercussions on her own life and those who join her....

Young entrepreneur Chelsea is still grieving the tragic loss of her mother and has just been subjected to a very public relationship breakup. She needs to get away and lick her wounds.

MP’s wife Victoria is at a crossroads in her life now that the children have left home. Much to her husband's shock, she realises she has ambitions of her own and is desperate to reconnect/find her own identity. She needs some ‘me time’.

Recently widowed, Matilda is assessing life without her beloved husband. Their dream had always been to retire to France. Can she find the courage to follow their dream on her own?

Over the course of the 10 days they spend together, the four women, despite their differences, support and bond, making memories and forming friendships that will last for years.

A heart-warming, uplifting novel, perfect for fans of Jill Mansell and Fern Britton.

Another excellent story

This is my third audio story by Jennifer Bohnet. If you love France get transported with her stories. The narrator is excellent, characters very believable and the stories centred around family, friendships and romance . I’m about to listen to the last audiobook by Bohnet…..please release some more!

A Riviera Retreat

Another classic Jennifer Bohnet story, loved it from the start to the finish. Love a good epilogue. Can’t wait to hear or read another of her novels.

Really good…

This audio book as well written and is excellently read too.
A gentle story with plenty to keep you interested as you explore the villa retreat and it’s fantastic location in South France with the villa owner and her three lucky competition winners.
They all have an opportunity to sort out their own problematic lives while also helping each other.
It’s great being a fly on the wall as the characters come to terms with their past lives and start looking ahead; each making the changes required for a new start.
Really good when a story starts with a kindness being passed on.

Lovely summer read in a beautiful setting.

Easy read. Disappointed that Matilda was made out to be some old relic, and she turned out to be in her eary sixties! It was good to find out about each of the characters, and the story unfolded at a steady pace. I would read other work by this author.

Enjoyable and uplifting

Four very different lives converge in a beautiful setting. As friendship blossoms through well-spent time together, each companion proves themselves compassionate and trustworthy. Problems are raised and solved through sharing, humbly receiving and bravely acting. Female friendship at its best - both empowering and unselfish and so a blessing to themselves and those around them. What’s not to enjoy?
Very well read too. Would just say the oldest character sounded perhaps a little “too” old, but overall clear, expressive, and impressive varying of voice for all the different characters.

Enjoyable and easy listen

This was a story of 4 ladies who found friendship in the south of France.
I really enjoyed this book. It was very easy to listen to.
Both story and narration were good. I will certainly listen to another book from this author.

A gentle summery read

A gentle read , very evocative of that psrt of southern France. Not overly descriptive but good enough so that you can imagine the surroundings easily. The author shows how strangers can bond into friends, and deals with their varying back stories well.

Good story

Enjoyed the story but feel that the narrator was more suitable to children’s stories, sounded like Enid blyton adventure at times.
