About this listen
A mysterious rogue...or a highly respected marquess?
Peter Farrell is thought to be a rogue with a dark secret, hiding the terrible truth about the origins of his young daughter, Abigail....
He is used to his reputation as a devious villain; but still, he manages to inspire Rosalie’s trust, when she comes to live with her well-connected aunt in London after two failed seasons.
Yet, he can’t just share his past with her. There’s too much at stake.
Rosalie must find a suitable husband, and the answer to her family’s prayers arrives in form of Julian Wareham, the Marquess of Oakham. He is charming, witty, highly regarded by London society, and no girl - Rosalie included - can resist his striking blue eyes.
But nothing seems to divert Rosalie’s fascination with the other man.
The mysterious rogue.
Mr. Farrell guards his past carefully as ever, and Rosalie’s family is pressuring her to marry the marquess.
However, Rosalie won’t feel at peace until she solves Peter’s mystery.
The answers she finds will surprise everyone.
What will Rosalie’s choice be, once she learns the truth?
And will it bring her happiness, or a broken heart?
Captivatingly sweet and soulfully romantic. Accompany Rosalie Curtis on her journey of heart and soul to find true love.
Clean Regency romance novel. No cliffhanger.

An enteratining twist on the traditional regency
I listened to this book in one day. It was easy to listen to and the story kept me engaged the whole time. The narration was very good.
I enjoyed the unique twist the author put on the traditional regency romance. Even though the Marquess seemed very charming I preferred Mr Farrell despite his bad reputation and lack of title.
Rosalie was a nice character and I understood her attraction to the Marquess and how she got caught up in a whirlwind courtship. Thankfully she had the presence of mind to trust her heart and use her brain in order to ensure her happily ever after.
This was a very good listen by a new to me author and I am hoping there will be more stories involving Rosalie's sisters, her aunt as well as the quite wicked marquess.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy provided by the author at my own request.

Irritating
I couldn't get past the first chapter as the narrator grated and the constant fretting and carping was overdone.
