About this listen
A Pride and Prejudice What if? Story
This re-telling of Pride and Prejudice asks "what if" events prevented Fitzwilliam Darcy from proposing to Elizabeth Bennet that day at Hunsford parsonage? Darcy arrives with marriage on his mind, only to find Elizabeth has just received news her father is critically ill and not expected to live. In the process of offering his help to her in traveling home, Darcy discovers what she really thinks of him - and it's not good. Should Darcy deliver Elizabeth home to be with her family and then disappear from her life, or should he propose another kind of help? Will Elizabeth be willing to sacrifice her future happiness to save her family from financial ruin? Or, do she and Darcy, two very stubborn people, have a chance of finding happiness together?

Well narrated and an easy listen.
Although there were ups and downs, they were not overblown and it was more about the doubts that each had and learning to trust each other.

Excellent story, long enough to get my teeth into!
I really enjoyed this book, Marian Hussey is the best narrator of the Pride and Prejudice Variations I have come across in the month I have been a subscriber and I have read 12 of them! ! as well as Mr. Darcy's Diary and David Rintoul is wonderful!

Made me quite miserable.
I felt quite depressed reading this book, Lizzie was unhappy, Darcy was an unhappy sulker there was sooooo much silence .... but at least there was some relief in the last few chapters.
Elizabeth Bennett lacked the vivacity she is well known to have until in the 50's chapters
Not a book I would want to read again,
well narrated but one wonders if the readers slow pace added to my at times boredom?
