Summary

From the authors of the best-selling series CHERRINGHAM.

When heart-throb American tennis coach Todd Winters careens off the road in his speeding car one night and plunges in the river, it seems like a tragic accident. But Winters was a young man with many dangerous secrets, and Harry and Kat discover there's no shortage of people who wanted him out of the picture. Soon they discover clear evidence: the accident was no accident at all. And now Harry and Kat had best be careful too... even in the genteel world of the Mydworth Lawn Tennis Club, a desperate murderer could be ready to kill again.

Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series "Piece of Cake". He is also the lead in the BBC series "The Inspector Lynley Mysteries", based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

Another fantastic story

Lighthearted but, nevertheless, exciting cozy murder mystery - beautifully narrated - I finished it over two nights because it was so enjoyable! Thank you!

A little disappointed

I love both this and the Cherringham series, but struggled a bit with the story, it didn’t keep me going as they usually do. Excellent narration though and just a tad less interesting. Will come back though, as hopefully this was just a fluke!

Not so good.

Not as good as previous stories. Boring, I kept dozing off as it did not hold my interest. Try harder next time please!! 🤔

very fun series that I can't get enough of.

very well narrated with just enough plot twists to make the story intriguing. One would never guess who the murderer is. Keep them coming! This series and the Bunberry series are among my favorites in all of audible.

True Escapism

Set in the 1920s, (when else?) a member of the nobility and his American wife solve crimes in an English countryside Village. Both have charming personalities, of course. The other characters are the caricatures of what you would expect to find at that time and place. The mysteries are well thought out and enjoyable to listen to. This automobile fan, particularly enjoys the description of the different automobiles, the various characters drive, and the sometimes important role. The car is play.

A deadly match

Great story! Good use of old favorite characters and weaving in new tough guys and desperate ladies & gentlemen.

Narration by Nathaniel Parker is a delight!

Well read mystery

We both enjoyed this, short book which transports the listener back into the Old England which had class division between rich and poor. Parker is a great reader too.

Agatha + Keith Always A Good Time

It is hard to go wrong with an MC Beaton story, especially when read by the marvelous Penelope Keith. I hope R.G. Green can continue Beaton’s characters, but he has VERY large shows to fill! Marion Chesney was so very talented and prolific. Agatha Raisin (& co), Hamish MacBeth, and the Poor Relations all over great story lines and well-drawn characters. I will miss them all.

Best one so far!

I listen to this series because it’s entertaining, easy to listen to. But i often find them a bit boring compared to my favorite cozy mystery series (my all time fav is Cherringham also written by these fine gentleman…. And the next Bunberry narrated by the lovely Nathanial Parker). But this one was great! Believable, not obvious like many of the others and just fun! Hope they keep going in this direction. It was great for a fun few hours of listening.
