Great evocation of London in the aftermath of WW2
Atmospheric, a good plot line and believable relationships/characters. Well read by the narrator as well

A fabulous book, don't miss this one.
Pop back to the late ‘50s when post-war Britain was still healing from a savage war. Many people who survived were left with scars, and many were left with dreams.
This trip down memory lane captivates the essence, where women wanted more, but men wanted marriage rules to stay the same.
Edie Butt basically ‘does a runner’, and nobody can blame her! Join Edie on her adventures as Owen Moylan weaves a delightful tale of life’s ups and downs.
This book is perfection.
I enjoyed every word.

Beautiful 2nd novel!
Absolutely loved this second novel from Julie Owen Moylan. I thoroughly enjoyed her first (That Green Eyed Girl) so was really looking forward to this. The characters are so beautifully written, and their stories will stay with me long after I finished listening! The narrator is fabulous!

a fantastic second novel
thoroughly enjoyable, having listened to the author's first novel,'That Green Eyed Girl'. 73 Dove Street is possibly even better.

No substance
Although this novel was supposed to be centred around 3 women, it really only focuses on Edie. Following her from a working girl to getting married to a bully. Continually going back and forth 2 -4 years to present, it had no substance, no real story line. I found it a struggle to finish. There was nothing remarkable about Edie and nothing remarkable about the story. Stereotyped characters from the 1950s. A very dull read indeed. Avoid.
