Shawn has been escaping into science fiction and fantasy whenever possible since early childhood. It began with his mother reading him The Hobbit as a bedtime story and grew into an obsession. Armed with an overactive imagination, he has forayed with great enthusiasm into any situation that could reasonably alleviate a sense of the mundane. From live action role playing to drum festivals and dancing around the fire, he has endeavored to surround himself with individuals who see the world through a lens of possibility and awe. His greatest wish is to grow his beard to an unruly length in a small town in New England while waiting for the Singularity, envisioning glorious new worlds, and putting them to pen for his readers to explore.
