Judith Bourque is an award winning filmmaker, author, holistic therapist and teacher. After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, she went to India and was trained as a teacher of Transcendental Meditation with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi at his ashram in Rishikesh, India and then worked on his personal staff for two years. She subsequently trained as a teacher of Re-evaluation Counseling, establishing that method in her country of residence, Sweden. She also teaches classes in Dreams as a Source of Spiritual Guidance and Shamanic Healing. After post graduate studies at the Stockholm University of the Arts (formerly known as Dramatiska Institutet), she worked at Swedish National Television for many years as a film editor, as well as producing and directing independent documentaries. Her films include "Sowing for Need or Sowing for Greed?", a documentary on genetically modified seeds (Gold Dukat and Audience Prize, Mannheim International Film Festival, Special Merit Award, EarthPeace International Film Festival), "The Real Patch Adams" (Columbus International Film & Video Festival Award, Gothenburg Film Festival and Western Psychological Association Annual Convention) and Hot and Cold Mandala I & II, an experimental infrared film, chosen as one of the 13 best films in the video section of the 2004 Gothenburg Film Festival. The audiobook version "Robes of Silk Feet of Clay" won the 2019 Voice Arts Award in Hollywood for Best Narration by an Author. Artistically her current form of expression is photographing light and a gallery of those photos can be seen on Instagram at bourquejudith. She is also a frequent speaker at international conferences on the subject of her book from the point of view of being a former member of a cult. She lives in Sweden and has a son and two grandchildren with Johannes Olivegren (deceased 1989).
