Jennifer Grant is the author several books for adults, including "Love You More," "When Did Everybody Else Get So Old?" and "Dimming the Day." She also writes for children. Her first picture book, "Maybe God is Like That Too" released in February 2017 and won a Moonbeam Spirit gold medal for excellence in children's literature. It was also named an FOREWORD Indie book of the year finalist and has sold more than 30,000 copies to date. "Maybe I Can Love My Neighbor Too" released in May 2019 and is an official gold standard Junior Library Guild selection. Her picture book on grief, "A Little Blue Bottle" released in August 2020 and, in October 2021, her picture book about how the COVID-19 pandemic affected us, "Once Upon a Time Not So Long Ago," launched. Her latest book for children is "Finding Calm in Nature," illustrated by Erin Brown and published by Beaming Books. Later in 2023, "What If I Can't Explain God?" will be published and explores a young child's thoughts on things that are hard to explain, including the fact that dolphins want to be in relationship with people and that fizzy soda makes her want to sneeze. The Divine, too, is hard for her to explain and seems quite impossible for the adults in her life. Grant is a promiscuous reader who (usually) finishes what she starts, and is just as likely to be found reading "Dinosaur Bob" as Kate Chopin. She received her master's degree in English literature with concentrations in fiction writing and critical theory from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She lives in Chicago with her husband.
