About this listen

Mairi Maclean is kidnapped on her wedding day by the enemy of her dead husband. Taken north to the water-surrounded Kisimul Castle, she is held captive in the name of retribution. But The Wolf of Kisimul Castle soon learns Mairi is not a docile pawn in this game of war between neighboring Scots. Nor will she be frightened into walking down the aisle to wed the fierce Highland chief.

Alec MacNeil is set on revenge. When he finds his enemy dead, he takes his wife to replace the one that was murdered. An eye for an eye. A bride for a bride. But Mairi is more tiger than kitten and refuses to bend to his will. Set stubbornly against one another, the passion that flares between them threatens to tear Alec's strategy to shreds.

Contains mature themes.

be still my beating heart 💓

What's not to love...

Heather McCollum is fast becoming one of my favourite historical novels author.

So far, this is the 1st series that I've read where I've loved all of the main characters & even the side characters, except the villains, of course :)

Tim Campbell is a fantastic narrator, who really helps bring the stories to life. He's one of the few male narrators that I've heard that is capable of doing credible female voices. His accents & multiple languages skills are phenomenonal as well!

I'd fallen a bit in love with Tor, Cullen & now Alec as well... dreamboats, the lot of them :)

Alec just edges out the other 2, because of his love for his children & dogs... I'm sold on that alone!

Kudos to the author for writing an abduction that is is no way violent nor abusive in any way!

I love also that she fleshed out the budding relationship between Mairi & her stepchildren, Cinnia and Weylyn... it felt like a natural

It was a funny, warm, lovable tale of 2 broken souls falling in love & completing a family!

Omg

The author has outdone herself with this book from the series, I haven't read the 4th one but still the hottest and sweetest story of them all
The wolf has 2 children and often I feel as the author doesn't know how to put the love story of a widowed father and someone else, but this one is so well done that I didn't even notice the story flowing
Also if I could I'd give a bigger rating for the narration because God knows how good he is that I don't even have words to describe
Definitely recommend this book and the others from the series

Lovely story, great narration

I love the writing, and it is read so well; some laugh out loud moments, and very saucy ones. Lovely story and the way the characters from previous stories come into the story feels like meeting old friends. I could listen to this narrator all day.
