Summary

Vivian is a cultural specialist on the United Earth fleet ship Gorison Traveler. It’s the perfect job for someone who wants to learn everything about aliens. The only problem? The commander won’t let her anywhere near the visiting Ke’ters aboard the ship. The only way she gets a peek at the lizard-like race is when her brother opens a live camera feed during a meeting—a meeting that turns tragic when the Ke’ters attack the crew.

She’s horrified. Scared. The Ke’ters are murdering her people. Rushing from her quarters to get help from a control center, Vivian finds the station abandoned. It’s all on her to try to rescue the crew.

Brassi is a Veslor trader who picks up a distress signal from a nearby space vessel. The attractive female who contacts him looks terrified, and needs his help. He’ll board the Gorison Traveler with his crewmates, and fight the Ke’ters, but the longer he spends on the huge Earth vessel, the greater a distraction Vivian becomes. Brassi will do whatever it takes to save her…and to discover if Vivian’s his mate.

Another good 'un!

Nice...until the mating scene! Ewww! Just...ewww. So not cool Ms Dohner. The sassy, kick ass women are always a pleasure to listen to.

Wrong Names

Read this book a number of times, but audible version has two leading characters , the two brothers Vassi and Brassi named as VassL and BrassL, sounds a small thing, but my brain keeps stuttering over them every time they’re mentioned, and correcting it, spoils the continuity of the story.
Apart from that I still like this story,

Awesome... Laurann Dohner at her best

This is quite simply what I've been looking for since reading Laurann Dohner's Cyborg seduction Series ...

The storyline is gripping, the characters are wonderfully believable (even the bad ones) and the story moves at the right pace .

Seriously I am hooked, bring on the next one ...

I like the story

Too bad no one in the editors noticed that the reader doesn't pronounce the names of the Veslors correctly and consistently pronounces an L when it has ro be an i

This was a very well read Audible book. Terrific story line. I can't wait to listen to more in this series.

Just Mates

Laurann Dohner was the queen of the sci-fi alien romance. This new series boldly goes into the premise. The female MC is smart, articulate and adventurous. Most of the male crew are dubious characters with dubious motives for being in space, which focuses the comedic aspects and action to create the drama and entertainment. Whilst this book is not rampantly funny like Book 1 of the Cyborg series: Burning Up Flint, you can tell it's from the same stable.

As you get more into the book the narrator grows on you; she starts off a bit high pitched and squeaky, so I played with the playback speed to 1.1 which was perfect but also the narrator settled into the role. Unlike the cyborg series which are delivered in a calm hilarious dead-pan ironic style, here there was more excitement and especial energy in each sentence, which turned the "another day at work" aspect into a continual crisis, which changed the events away from comedy towards quite a serious frantic tone. This was not pleasant to listen to for long periods;

It's all change 1hr 30 mins from the end when the sex starts and the adventure section ends. It's all just more of the same from then on. I won't be continuing with this series.

I'm happy to keep re-listening to be whole cyborg series as they are gems.

TOO SACCHARINE FOR ME
