Summary

I am so in love with you, Charlie, I can't see straight.

Deck:
Ex-commando Deck Johnston has a busy life. He is the boss of a successful construction company. The cofounder and sergeant at arms of the Wounded Souls MC. And he is a single father to a three-year-old blue-eyed, raven-haired princess - who has a liking for guns, camouflage, pink tutus, and cursing.

Deck's life is full, and he isn't looking for anything more. That is, until a sweet ballet dancer who happens to be his daughter's daycare teacher comes along and knocks the weapon specialist on his ass.

Charlotte:
Charlotte Jackson's life is not going the way she expected. An injury ended her dancing career a decade too early. She is in debt to her cold-hearted family, she drives a POS car, lives in apartment the size of a shoebox, and owns an abnormally large white cat that hates her and everyone else.

She didn't expect to fall for the father of her favorite daycare student. A tall, muscled alpha former soldier with the bluest eyes she has ever seen. With one look into his sapphire eyes, her life was turned upside down.

On their way to love, will Deck trust Charlotte with the other piece of his heart: his daughter? Will he let her help him overcome the PTSD ravaging him from his years of deployment? Will Charlotte find the love she has always craved and finally get her very own happily-ever-after about which she has always dreamed?

Contains mature themes.

Loved this book

Do you have a list of go to books? I do and this book is on both my Audible list and my reading list, I have both read and listened to it on numerous occasions, since I first read it.
I love the couple that are narrating especially the male, I tend to get lost when he is reading, I just love the sound of his voice so much.
As when I am reading I get pulled into the book, and stay there all the while I am listening to it. I have also managed to get my little mini movie playing along in my head when I am listening.
There are twists, turns and surprises through out this book. Some of the surprises you may see coming and others you might not, some of the surprises are large, while others are small, but each and everyone has equal importance in the book and help to make the book the fantastic read that it is.
I went on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster ride with this book, I did cry, so if you are anything like me you might want to have your tissues available to be on the safe side. Each and every emotion that the characters go through can be felt and some will even pull on your heart strings. I went through the emotions with the characters. For me personally if I go through what the characters are going through, I usually enjoy the book better.
There was a time or two I wanted to reach into the book and smack a couple of the characters, but they redeemed themselves.

His sweetness

When I read the description and reviews I had high hopes for this book. I felt like some of the writing was a bit cheesy and the characters rather immature. The female lead spoke more like a child than the three-year-old did. It’s implied through the book the female lead doesn’t have a lot of confidence in herself and we see this when she puts herself down, but after the park scene, I had no respect for the female character! She walked back and let him off the hook almost right away after some sweet words and to be honest I didn’t even like the male lead. I appreciate a man who puts his child first but to completely disregard someone who he claims to love in unthinkable, I did like the way the author built back stories for the other characters within the book, but I felt like a lot of them were brought up in the wrong moment so we’re hard to keep track of as there were so many characters. The narrators did a good job for their character, the male narrator was able to show a lot of emotion for the story.

Well

I really enjoyed reading this as a book and I love the rest of the series, but the male performance ruined it for me!

Couldn’t finish

A good idea but not that well executed. Felt like there was no substance in either writing or narration. The story felt scattered and the reading was lacking all the emotions that could have saved this story. Gave up and wouldn’t recommend.
