About this listen

Catherine's father conspired to have my father killed, and that debt to the Benedetti family must be settled. Just as he took something from me, I will take something from him.

His daughter.

She will be mine to punish and ravage, but when she suffers, it will not be for his sins.

It will be for my pleasure.

She will beg, but it will be for me to claim her in the most shameful ways imaginable.

She will scream, but it will be because she doesn't think she can bear another climax.

But when she surrenders at last, it will not be to her captor.

It will be to her husband.

Publisher's Note: Cruel Prince is a stand-alone novel which is the first entry in the Benedetti Empire series. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

Piper certainly knows how to write a fantastic mafia book

What can I say? This book is fantastically written. With good strong fascinating characters and a gripping storyline I was hooked from the first page. With a double whammy of Thomas’s fantastic performance and Piper’s wonderful words there’s nothing stopping you from enjoying this book.

Loved it!

I love this series. Cruel Prince is an absolutely marvellous start to the Benedetti Empire series. The story is wonderfully written, passionate, steamy, wrapped in family and loyalties, betrayal, secrets, danger, suspense, drama, and unforeseen twists. The character, plot, and storyline development are superb; my attention was caught from the beginning to the very last word. Matteo is the oldest of the three Benedetti brothers and set to take over the family business after his father is murdered. Catherine is given to Matteo by her father, who is suspected to be involved in the murder. She is strong-minded, independent, defiant, and not pleased with this arrangement. Matteo and Catherine are absolutely amazing, and the chemistry was something else; beyond scorching hot with an explosive connection.

Stellar narration by Thomas Locklear. I absolutely loved his performance; it was very authentic. He flawlessly captured the nuances of the characters' personalities, emotions, attraction, and connection. I was able to picture the characters' faces and the scenes. All in all, Cruel Prince was a fantastic listen, and one I'll strongly recommend.

Thomas Locklear narration will have you on your knees

Catherine is paying for her father's sin of murdering Matteo Benedetti's father and the repayment is to become his wife. She finds this out as she finds herself drugged, kidnapped, and transported to Italy.
Benedetti family have many secrets . Loved how all the characters mixed with the life in a mafia family.

Matteo and Catherine

After his father was murdered whilst visiting New York, Matteo steps up and becomes the new Don. He decides that he and his two brothers will make the three men responsible not only pay for their crime but suffer too. But it's not death or physical torture they choose, no he decided that their daughters would be forced into marriage with them! What better way to gain the upper hand and make the three men responsible pay?

First, the Police Commissioner's daughter Catherine was abducted by and forced to marry Matteo, as you would imagine their relationship was not an easy one, they are both strong personalities and although they share palpable and explosive chemistry she didn't enter this marriage of her own free will and perpetually fights her growing feelings for the man she considers a monster.

As the story progresses we learn why Matteo is the way he is, we also see Catherine adapting to her new life in Tuscany, we learn a well-kept family secret, a secret that puts Catherine's life in danger, which forces Matteo to admit that his prisoner Bride has become so much to him than he ever intended as they both somehow end up falling in love. Matteo will always be a demanding man, a man who insists on obedience whilst Catherine will continue to fight for what she wants which makes their journey to their happy ever after a very explosive, entertaining and enjoyable listen.

The book is, as you would expect dark at times and very hot so if forced sex and spankings offend then give this book a miss but if it doesn't then grab yourself a long cool drink and sit down and enjoy!

The narration of this book is superbly done by the very talented Thomas Locklear, a master of his craft who this time treated us to a very sexy Italian accent.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

review from an italian, it may contain spoilers

ok, let's start by talking about the story and the characters: very simple story, not much going on, except the absurdity of the situation.. he is hot, rich, powerful, horny and obsessive, she craves him 24/7, she is "trapped" in Tuscany in a mansion with servants, having sex pretty much every 10 minutes and she is unhappy...boo-fricking-hoo. sorry, but I don't really get it. then there is a lot going on about italy and the inaccuracies within the story and the narration. mafia family based in Tuscany?? if the author picked Campania, Puglia, Calabria, Sicilia, I would have been ok with it.. don't get me wrong, mafia is everywhere, but definitely not that loud in Tuscany. then let's talk about names. Gio is the short for Giovanni and you pronounce it "Jo", and not "g-eo". Enrique it's not an italian name, it should have been Enrico pronounced "en-ri-ko". stefano is read Stè'-fano and NOT Ste-fàno. the way to say "princess" in italian is "prin-ci-pèssa" and not "princessa". I am sure I am missing a lot more, but these are the ones that are currently coming to my mind. but in general this is to say that it's very annoying that author, beta readers, proof readers and narrator didn't even bother making a little research or at least asking around for advice. At a point Matteo tells his wife "finchè morte non ci separi" and this was read as "fince Morti non si sepri". I cringed. one key thing to know about narrating pretending to be italian, is that when a C precedes H and followed by I or E, it's always read as it was a K. in no case C is read like an S, but it's the equivalent of the english CH, like in "cherry". therefore the correct way to pronounce that sentence would have been "Fin-kè (accent on the E) mor-te (every consonant pronounced strongly and the E sounds like an A and not an I) non ci (chi) sepà-ri. I REALLY tried hard to like it, but unless you are into pornography, this is not the "romance" novel you want to read. there is romance novels, erotica novels and then there is porn. this is definitely porn. so much that the narrator decided to insert moans and sexual screams for actual porn clips. I found it distasteful. I don't mind a sexual scene here and there, I am far from being a prude, but the sex here is constant so much that it gets annoying. overall very disappointing and it just put me off from listening books about italian characters even more that I used to be.
