It’s a place that we all want to go. The islands of Puget Sound and specifically Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. It’s a peaceful beautiful place with a small population of unique and interesting characters. A fishing industry that is always busy and yet there are also causal fishermen that are always fishing but never catching anything. Characters that we can all understand and identify. A new deputy sheriff, Vince Murphy, has moved here with his kids. He’s been raising them on his own since his wife left him while they were still infants.

A small town police department sergeant is awakened when the chief goes missing. As his investigation progresses, it becomes apparent that the chief was murdered. Not only that, but the chief had been abusing his authority and hurting the town's people in ways he and his fellow officers could never have imagined. It's up to the sergeant to keep the department together, solve the murder, help the town heal, and move on.

A dead woman is discovered dressed up and posed on a baseball diamond. Sergeant Curt Woods is called to the scene and the investigation begins. Before long it becomes evident that the Tri-Cities has a demented serial killer on the loose that is taunting the local law enforcement agencies.
