Story
The United States has July 4th, Ireland St Patrick’s Day and France Bastille Day. Most Nations celebrate a particular day as ‘theirs’. That day is when they turn to themselves; to reflect on the past, to revel in the present and to look forward to the future. For England 23rd April is St George’s Day. St George, a hero from bygone days, who slays dragons and pursues other mythic deeds, is part of childhood. But for modern times, for modern nations, a greater purpose is needed. For England St George is best now described as a principle.

One of the greatest of English poets, Edmund Spenser was born in East Smithfield, London, in 1552 and went to school at Merchant Taylors' School and later at Pembroke College, Cambridge. In 1579, he published The Shepheardes Calender, his first major work. Edmund journeyed to Ireland in July 1580, in the service of the newly appointed Lord Deputy, Arthur Grey, 14th Baron Grey de Wilton. His time included the terrible massacre at the Siege of Smerwick. In the Ozark wilderness, a dragon disembowels a man named Alex Pure. It's the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Also, the apocalypse. Dawn of Dragons is a prequel to the Bitterwood Trilogy, but should be listened to after finishing the trilogy due to numerous spoilers regarding events in the later books. Set 1000 years before the events of Bitterwood, Dawn of Dragon tells the story of the first dragon, Morningstar, as he escapes from captivity in the final days of the Human Age.

Story
With the thunder and lightning outside increasing in ferocity, Charles read and re-read the words. Like his name on the envelope, the words of the message within had also been typed - this communication contained no actual handwriting whatsoever. At length, Charles allowed his hand to fall to his lap, the message still held between his fingers. Had there been anyone else present in the room, the words would now have been visible to all. The message read: "We know your secret".

Story
James Elroy Flecker was born on 5th November 1884, in Lewisham, London. Flecker does not seem to have enjoyed academic study and achieved only a Third-Class Honours in Greats in 1906. This did not set him up for a job in either government service or the academic world. After some frustrating forays at school teaching he attempted to join the Levant Consular Service and entered Cambridge to study for two years. After a poor first year he pushed forward in the second and achieved First-Class honours. His reward was a posting to Constantinople at the British consulate.

Oscar Wilde's only novel is half gothic horror, half morality tale, and is as timeless as his plays and poems. First published in 1889, this unabridged audiobook edition narrated by Jake Urry captures the wit, the charm, and the horror of Wilde's most controversial work. Perhaps the most well-known outing for Arthur Conan Doyle's beloved Sherlock Holmes, The Hound of the Baskervilles has all the ingredients of the coziest of mysteries. Jake Urry brings this head-scratching tale to life in this unabridged telling of a timeless classic.

Story
Balla is often described as "the Slovak Kafka" for his depictions of the absurd and the mundane. In the Name of the Father features a nameless narrator reflecting on his life, looking for someone else to blame for his failed relationship with his parents and two sons, his serial adultery, the breakup of his marriage, and his wife's descent into madness. Against the backdrop of their stiflingly gray provincial lives, he completely fails to act against "the thing" growing in the cellar of the house he built with his brother.
