Endless connections to life and background on the scriptures

David Ridge’s paper-edition of this book provides so much background information and insights into the scriptures. This audio-version has even more information. David narrates himself. We have been listening as a family for about an hour per day, and you really feel like you learn many new things. Even our little kids laugh at some of the humor that he injects into his teaching. If you have a difficult time relating to the scriptures, this would be a great way to try to study. If you are a little stalled in your family study, this would be a great way to increase interest.

The Best Book for Newbies!

As an "Investigator" or someone interested in learning about the Mormon faith and pursuing authentically, I can't tell you how much I love this read. For those who haven't been in the church their entire lives, this is the best place to start. The narrator has a soft older gentlemen's voice that has a little spunk (kind of cute honestly). He reads a verse or so and explains what is happening. The Book of Mormon has so much symbolism that its easy to get lost. However when you hear a strange phrase the first time and think "that doesn't make any sense" then a chapter later you hear the same phrase and it completely makes sense. The Missionaries have even listened with me a few times on difficult chapters. Definitely recommend!

Great! Now where’s the sequel??

This was great and very helpful. But it only covers the first half of the BoM. Please publish the sequel on Audible. I see it is on CD format on Amazon, but I want it on Audible.

Nice addition to study, voice hard to listen to.

Enjoyed the additional information for my study, however, the voice had too much bass and gravel for long term reading. That said, it is like sitting down with "grandpa" to read scriptures.

Full of LDS false traditions

Full of LDS false traditions. For example the formation of a church in 1 Nephi 13 it is claimed is Satans kingdom which can not be the case as it already existed.

Exciting approach to reading the Book of Mormon

I find myself seeing the Book of Mormon in a deeper light as Brother Ridges provides meaningful insights. His knowledge of the Bible and historical events help correlate and strengthen these insights. A great companion volume to scripture study.

Narrator Sounds Very Tired

I was really hoping this would be a great audio version of the Book of Mormon. The narrator sounds very tired, almost with a frog voice. Probably should’ve hired a better reader.

Brother Ridges helps us obtain more

By the time I finished this part of the Book of Mormon with David Ridges, I had developed great respect and appreciation for the much needed insight into what I was reading. Brother Ridges clearly has a lot of knowledge of the scriptures and seamlessly referenced other scriptures and publications always being very specific on each down to the page number. This has lead me to add to my library. My wife has also enjoyed reading the scriptures with this narrator as a companion as well as the addition to our library. Especially at the time in our early conversion to the Church. We understand more to teach our children. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙂.
