Summary

In 1942, Evie Farrow is used to life on Ocracoke Island, where every day is the same—until the German U-boats haunting their waters begin to wreak havoc. And when special agent Sterling Bertrand is washed ashore at Evie's inn, her life is turned upside down. While Sterling's injuries keep him inn-bound for weeks, making him even more anxious about the man he's tracking, he becomes increasingly intrigued by Evie, who seems to be hiding secrets of her own.

Decades earlier, in 1914, Englishman Remington Culbreth arrives at the Ocracoke Inn for the summer, but he doesn't count on falling in love with Louisa Adair, the innkeeper's daughter. When war breaks out in Europe, and their relationship is put in jeopardy, will their love survive?

As Evie and Sterling work to track down an elusive German agent, they unravel mysteries that go back a generation. The ripples from the Great War are still rocking their lives, and it seems yesterday's tides may sweep them all into danger again today.

Bestselling and award-winning author Roseanna M. White whisks you away to two periods fraught with peril in this sweeping and romantic dual-time tale.

Timeless

What a journey!
I think I have a bit of a book hangover right now. Yesterday’s Tides is an adventure in love and war. Set to back drop of to world changing periods of time, two couples traverse the waters of serving their country in a foreign land while battling their own hearts desires.
This story was beautiful in writing and in the telling. Roseanna M. White and Pilar Witherspoon make a great team in the world of storytelling.

Great Book

I really enjoyed this book. My favorite parts were the backstory. I was so intrigued, I skipped through the chapters to find out what happened. Then I went back and listened to the rest of the story. The rest of the story was good but not as compelling. I thought that the author didn’t develop that part of the story as well as the backstory; However it was still a really good book. I hope the author has a sequel planned. The story seems to indicate she does. I love Ms. Whites’s novels. I can’t wait for her next one.

Beautiful

The unfolding of this story, with the two timelines, is simply beautiful. I loved seeing some familiar faces, loved the complicity this author always gracefully writes, loved each character. I laughed, I cried. I loved.

Code Breakers Sequel

Yesterday's Tides was a delightful surprise. It includes characters from the Code breakers series. The settings smoothly switch between WWI and WWII. Rosanna White and Pilar Witherspoon raised the bar with this story and performance.

Roseanna has out done my expectations!

I have enjoyed over a dozen of Roseanna's books and have always loved how each series I have read intertwines with another like beautiful pieces of an elaborate quilt. Usually I have a pretty good sense of where the story is going and can anticipate the characters actions. This story however was much more elaborate. I honestly had anxiety that the book wasn't going to end well. I don't want to give the story away so let's just say wrapped it up well.
My only complaint is for the narrator...they should havebvb to do some field work about characters beforehand 😬 This book brings characters together from 4 different series, but names and accents of the characters where poorly read.
