Once again, totally gripping.
Dear Dan, what can I say? Amazing, brutal, heart wrenching.
Had me reaching for the tissues at the end.

Faultless
Absolutely enthralled by the story and the performance from Ben Miles is extraordinary.
I have listened to this 2nd instalment almost back to back with the first book.
I tend to listen to audiobooks exclusively whilst driving on my commute but with this and the 1st book I found myself sitting in the car just hear the end of a chapter.
I can genuinely say I have listened to 100’s of audiobooks and this series is one of the ver very few that I didn’t want to end.
Great job to Dan and Ben and can’t wait for the next one

Yep! THIS is a sequel!
Only a few hours in so far and the tone of the first book has perfectly carried over, I love where this one is going! The grit, the humour and the horror “Essex dogs” captured has been perfectly transcribed in to this book with the same underlying mysteries that I won’t spoil! Highly recommend this book if you enjoyed the first instalment! Dan’s expert writing with Ben’s perfect narration is a combination like no other!

Superb performance of a great story
A dark time in the lives of the Essex Dogs just gets darker. Ben Miles reads absolutely brilliantly and brings to vivid life the many characters involved in this fictional account ( no doubt very close to reality) of the siege of Calais. Another great novel by Dan Jones: brutal, compassionate, funny and moving all at once. Fascinating historical detail, painstakingly plotted and realised. Thanks to both Dan and Ben for a great production.

What happens next? I need to know!
A thoroughly gripping story from start to end, that had me hanging on to every word. Scotsman and Northampton are two of the best characters, and there's an air of mystery surrounding a number of others. I want to know what happens next. I don't want to wait any longer! Book 3... When? Wheeeeeeeeeeeeen, Dan?

Intense. Fascinating. Harrowing. Cinematic.
As good as the first m. Reminds me of Bernard Cornwell writing 100 years war. Learn and be entertained at the same time. Colourful characters to boot.

Another amazing sequel!
Wow another awesome book! Absolutely gripping! Book 3 is a must! I have an idea how to story would go but would be amazing to see how a third book plays out.
