Relatable and relevant

"Wisdom for Teens" is a comprehensive guide that delves into the complexities of the teenage experience, from understanding the impact of brain development and hormones to navigating situational pressures. The book sheds light on recognizing and addressing unhealthy coping mechanisms, both physical and emotional, in the face of performance expectations and social pressure. Drawing from personal experiences in sports, the chapter on fitness and mental health resonated deeply. I particularly liked the emphasis on the importance of setting a personal mission statement. When someone writes down what is important to them to live by, it tends to be more meaningful. Finally, the value of mentorship is highlighted as a key component in adolescent growth, underscoring the profound impact of having strong role models and a supportive space for meaningful conversations outside the parental realm. This insightful read offers invaluable guidance for teens navigating the tumultuous journey of self-discovery and growth, and especially, battling anxiety and depression.
