Summary
Beast. Creature. Monster. Dangerous.
All of these things have been said about Gren. Willa doesn't believe it, though. She knows that monsters can sometimes come in appealing packages. She knows that for all of his snarls and fearsome appearance, he'd never hurt her. And she knows she has to get Gren away from the Icehome camp, because no one will ever see him as a person, not when he attacks all who come close. Not when he's tied and treated like an animal.
She's going to save him...or fall in love. Maybe both. Willa doesn't mind that he's a beast, as long as he's her beast.
Contains mature themes.

fabulous narration
this duo have done a great job with the narration of the previous books in the ice home series , i need to give them the proper recognition they deserve though, as they gave a truly fantastic performance with narration of this book. every character was expertly captured in their performance, a thoroughly enjoyable listen.

Willa is self righteous and I hate it
At the beginning of the story I liked Willa because she had so much compassion for Gren. As the story went along I really liked Gren and couldn't stand Willa. She said she believed people based on actions and that didn't seem to be the case. The people of the village did so much to help them and never once tried to take her from Gren, but she was still so distrustful for no damn reason. I had to skip through so much because of her bs. I usually read each of the Icehome/Barbarian books multiple times, but I cannot with this one.

Two virgins with extreme trust issues
Pros: Crisden’s voicing for Gren is super sexy, growly and Monroe’s voicing for Willa is sassy Southern. The second half is fun as characters from the origin series (Ice Planet Barbarians) and this offshoot series interact with each other.
Cons: After 20 IPB books, this book 3 brings the same old plots of a prickly gal ending up alone with a hunky, but earnest alien who worships her even though they don’t understand each other. I thought we got through the lack of a translator many books ago. Gren and Willa also have huge trust issues, which felt overplayed. Finally, the nookie-to-story ratio was waaay off, with this book largely assuming listeners know the backstories and want to get straight to it. But, I found this couple to be more like two randy teens… not very appealing until the final third, when we get a little of their backstories to make me like them better.
At this point in the series, I only buy these on sale. The IPB books 1-6 are the only ones I re-listen to, for the best combination of campy stories and alien nooky.

A Tender Love Story
As Southerner, I was tickled with the characterization of Willa.
I really enjoyed thier love story of Willa and Gren. I hope will have more and I am very curious what their "Kit" will be since, Gren is a hybrid of so many. Bless his heart!

Oh Wila, go away.
This book was very aggravating to me and it was one of the “longer” ones in the series. I absolutely cannot deal with Wila, she is unreasonable and single minded. Thank god for the Beast because he is the one that helped me get through. I have not finished the Icehome series but I’m pretty sure this will be my least favorite book.

Ruby is still going strong, however
I thought I would enjoy this one but Willa is just to much of a two faced bitch. She is very trusting and understanding towards Gren but constantly hurts and is really snotty to others. The "others" going from scared, to fearful, to weary, to excepting, to kind towards Gren, and Willa is just a snotty little bitch the hole time, no matter how hurt her or Grim become, or how much she needs the help or advice.
I really liked WIlla is the previous books and for the first half I kinda liked her, but you realize she is really narrow minded, just in a way you didn't expect.

Willa and Gren
Such a wonderful story. Loved the way Willa fought to save Gren. He was a very likable character. Loved the narrators, especially Grens voice. It was tragic, funny at times and a steamy romantic story. Highly recommend.

Willa and Gren
Ruby Dixon is one of my favorite authors. I love Willa and Gren's story. Gren was thought to be a beast because of his behaviour but there was a good reason for it. He learns to trust Willa. She was the only one to defend and try to reach out to him. The story only grows from there. Some of the previous characters make an appearance. The narrators were great and I especially love Sean Crisden.

Wow…. Never disappointed!
Ruby Dixon has the ability to build world that are frightening and keep you on the edge of your seat! No matter which series of hers I read I find myself enjoying the characters and stories! And Sean Crisden, and Felicity Monroe, outstanding job with all of the characters voices. You brought them to life!
