Amazing, I'll never diet again!!
I never write reviews but felt I had to for this book, I'm slightly overweight at an NHS BMI of 25.9. The concept in this book that we all have a "weight setpoint" fits exactly with my weight over my adult lifetime. I've never been serious about dieting but have tried fasting and low calorie choices, I can lose weight quite rapidly but suprise suprise it always comes back and often with a little extra for good measure. I thought I had strong will power and have fasted for 48 hour periods quite often but then wondered why weeks after I was always hungry and would hit the fridge under cover of darkness. The detail in this book is certainly detailed but yet so well explained it's understandable for non-medical people. I'm going to take a fresh approach armed with the knowledge I'll never beat my subconscious autonomic systems. As my life style will allow I'm going to aim for fresh foods and avoid processed foods and I'm happy to wait for the results with no great expectations and if I don't shed the weight I'd like to I'll be happy in the knowledge I'm eating healthily and that I am the weight I am.
