Summary

Korinne Woodsorrow is trapped. Not only at her parents lumbermill, but also in a village where she’s shunned. Worse than that, she’s stuck sacrificing the life she wants for the person she loves.

Next to the lumbermill looms the deadly Whispering Wildwood, with its magical creatures and mystical plants. The wildwood is not to be spoken of and not to be entered.

Yet, when disaster strikes, Korinne has to take her brother - who is all muscles and heart but not much brain - with her into the wildwood on a death-defying quest. Guided by a dashing rogue of a pirate and hunted by mysterious monsters, this quest soon goes deeper into a world of fairytales, danger, and wonder.

Korinne quickly has to figure out who and what to trust. As well as her new future, her sexuality, and of course - what happens if a quest changes into something completely different while you’re on it?

Welsh woods

although the writing is good I found the story a bit too long, often due to repetitive lines, but the narration spoiled listening, often no pause between characters thinking same person was talking, and why one member of family had Welsh accent, better to read book.

Brilliant

One of the best books I've read/ listened to in a long time
The imaginative world that Emma Sterner-Radley has created is wonderful. I just love the 3 main characters and the joyous banter between them .

This book has everything I want in a book , great well written characters, action , brilliant plot , plot twists and turns , romance , humour, sweetness , fantasy and I could go on and on its best that you read it yourself to see as I highly recommend this book.

Hetty Elliott narration fits so well, I love her different voices and styles

Fantastic story! Hide your secrets, name, blood.

A wonderful fantasy adventure, never a dull moment, with intricately and subtlety woven in current topics, ideals, and challenges.
Highly recommended!
