About this listen

Pennsylvania 1739 : Stanton Klein’s father had given up on life after his wife died and left Stanton orphaned to live with his grandparents. He decided he would never love like that. He and his first wife had fared well together, but she’d died in childbirth. Now he’s decided to find another woman to marry. After all, a farmer needs a wife and sons. However, with the changes come important lessons and dangers that Stanton never imagined.

Beth Evans has taken care of her father since he fell from a barn roof and can no longer walk. People, like Fiona, have always made fun of her, because she has a limp. When Stanton befriends her, she’s wary but also intrigued. Her father encourages her to give Stanton a chance, but how can she be sure this is what’s best?

One of the best historical fiction romance is I’ve ever read!

When Stanton Klein was A 10-year-old boy his father took his own life, because he couldn’t live without his wife. So while Stanton grew up and married his self he said he would never fall in love, because he didn’t want to suffer the same fate. Unfortunately his first wife Molly and their unborn daughter passed away, but he needed a wife he was a farmer in the colonies and women were essential to helping the world get done. He said out to find a bride and the pastor told him about A girl who although beautiful had a nasty attitude. She was especially nasty to Beth Evans who had a limp and would make fun of her publicly. So Stanton being an upright gentleman made Miss Evans acquaintance and walked her home in front of everyone and that started him thinking maybe that would be a good wife. She was in they married and he started having feelings he has never felt before, but they also started having things happen around the farm. Some of it could even be deadly, but who is doing it? Beth is happy but Stanton never says he loves her, he says he’s fond of her and even thinks highly of her but why doesn’t he say he love her. There is so much to this book and I must say it I loved all of it it was so good and best of all it was historically accurate. That is a big pet peeve of mine and in this book she didn’t just get some things right she got everything right from staying home while pregnant to them cording and with the narrator just put the cherry on top. I can’t wait to read more from the author, I have never read her books before but I will definitely be reading them from now on. I love this book and highly recommend it if you like historical romance and fiction you’ll love this book… I certainly did!
