Summary

For fans of Really Good Actually and I'm Glad My Mom Died

This is a book about mistakes. And why we should de-flower shame in all its messy, complicated glory...

Hello!

It's Lou here...

I've poured my heart and guts on to the page and shared my soul in this book. This won't be for everyone but I hope it helps the people it does connect with. We all have stories and I think its useful to share them, I think it helps unite us and in some ways it helps us release some shame.

I've been alarmingly truthful and sincere, because I think society would be better if we could all be honest. I've of course used humour too, not as a way to cope (I've processed the darker things that have happened to me), but as a change in pace, some gorgeous light relief, because life is light and dark dancing together in the wind. And I love jokes.

If this is the sort of thing you're after, please pick me up and take me to bed (that's the book speaking so a little joke there).

Honest, thoughtful & funny

This book tells stories about people - the good, the bad and the funny. Lou’s openness and reflection about some very hard hitting topics are a gift to the ready. Especially when paired with her reflections and insights about human nature. Keep listening right to the end for a lovely, funny interview!

brilliant

I love her comedy but you dont need to be a fan to enjoy this book. Particularly good if you want an uplifting look at recovery from addiction with some fanny jokes. Who doesn't? Loved it.

Honest, raw and vulnerable

What a book! Made me laugh, made me cry and made me feel better about-myself, knowing we all have similar feelings and experiences. Lou is so brave being able to share her stories and her view on the world. Very inspirational! This book pooped up on my audible without me even knowing who she was, clearly I was meant to listen to this. Thank you for sharing. What a woman!

Great, honest autobiography

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Lou’s great at reading it. I appreciated her honesty and vulnerability in talking about some really personal and traumatic stuff, and her ability to see humour in some of the situations.

Funny, insightful and brilliantly Loulie!

I listened start to finish without stopping! If you like Lou Sanders, you'll love her book. She is such a great story teller and refreshingly honest generous fair and loving to everyone she describes. Also love the dynamic between her and Luke Mcqueen in the end interview.

Inspiring!!

I wasn't expecting this to be as harrowing as it was. It's a testament to Lou's charming storytelling that even in the depths of some dark moments you rarely feel despair or pain, just the honest hope that even our lowest points are lessons to be learnt from. I loved every second of this book, theres some real pearls of wisdom in there and the whole thing feels like a brutally honest, silly and yet thoughtful big hug from a friend who's already been there!
