Jewel at her best. A 10 Star read
I listened to the Audio and loved the narration of both characters. I was engaged from beginning to end. You know when a story has gripped you when you feel you want to meet the characters to tell them where they are going wrong. Sophie is a beautiful person who likes to help others, men have taken advantage of her good nature leaving her to questioning her ability to determine the good from the bad. Her ex boyfriend and now irritating room mate, refuses to leave her home adding further to Sophie’s already complicated situation. Shep is recently divorced and coming to terms with bachelor life. He is settled despite his ex trying to get him to sign up to dating apps. Shep’s life changes when Sophie walks into his pet shop with her dog and for both of them something is ignited. Shep knows what he wants. Sophie is nervous about starting a new relationship. She has too many obstacles to navigate and it is not the right time for her. Plus she does not want what she perceive could be another disastrous relationship. She struggles with what to do for the best. Not sure what to do or whether to trust her instincts, Sophie decides being friends is the way to be with Shep. But that decision brings other problems. I was pulled willingly along with each twist and turn and each roller coaster of emotions with this story. I know I will listen to this audio several hundred times more.
