Story
I knew the fork in the road was inevitable; it was the decision I never wanted to make between choices I didn't know I had. And I love them both. My heart is destined to exist in two equal halves - one with each man. But one half beats stronger, the vein running deepest, and holds my choice in silence long before I know it for myself. The realization of what I have to do, of the heart I have to break, just might break mine, too.

Story
What makes you happy? That was the question Emery Reed asked me the day we met, and I couldn't give him a single answer. I could have said my dog, or my books, or yoga - but I just stared. And then, I got in his car. It was crazy to take a road trip with a stranger, but after years of standing still, he was my one-way ticket to a new life, and I wasn't going to miss it. We shared the same space, the same car, the same hotel room - and still, we were strangers. One day we'd be laughing, the next, we wouldn't speak. Emery was surrounded by impenetrable walls, but I wanted in.

I was warned about Tristan Cole. "Stay away from him," people said. "He's cruel." "He's cold." "He's damaged." It's easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster. Nate Monson was gorgeous, obnoxiously wealthy, and a player. He was also the person who could destroy my world with a single decision. I walked into that bar looking for him. He saw me. I saw him. The chemistry sizzled between us, but no. I hated Nate Monson. I hated him with everything in me, even though my body did not. It didn't matter. Nothing I wanted mattered. He thought I wanted to get laid. What I wanted was for him to disappear. But first, I had to tell him that he had a daughter.

Story
Fifteen years ago, I fell for Jack O’Donnell. I was just a girl, but I knew my brother’s best friend was the only man I’d ever love. On my 18th birthday, when I asked him to kiss me, I never imagined it would change my life so completely. I gave Jack everything that night. In order to move on, we had to go our separate ways and pretend like nothing happened...as though it wasn’t the greatest moment of my life. But even that wasn’t as heartbreaking as the secret we were forced to keep.

It’s been said that you can’t love two men at the same time. You can’t split your heart, soul, and body in half. But I’m here to tell you, you can. Dylan Cole is like ice, sharp and unpredictable, the thunder inside a tumultuous storm. Smith Reid is warmth, soft and gentle, perfect like a sunny day. Both are mine. But I can have only one. There are two sides to this tale. I'm here to tell you mine. If you think this story is about a cheater, you couldn’t be more wrong.

Romance Wrapped in a Whodunnit
- By Chrissy’s Book Shelf on 04-01-22
Summary
On the northeast side of town, there is a house.
The house was once magical, filled with love and joy and plans for the future. Inside its walls are many things that belong to me - my books, the china from my mother on my wedding day, the beautiful cage once home to two birds, now empty, just like me.
And a man. A man who also belongs to me. A man I no longer wish to keep. A man who, no doubt, has not slept, though the sun is rising. Because the house where he waits is where I laid my head to rest every night for eight years. Until last night.
No one who knows me would believe Charlie Pierce, the quiet, bookish girl who never made waves, is pulling out of the driveway of a man who isn’t her husband. But they don’t know me at all. I don’t even know me. Not anymore.
They say there are two sides to every story, and I suppose in most cases, that’s true. But the one I live inside of? It has three.
On the northeast side of town, there is a house. But there is no longer a home.

A five star listen ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I could not get enough of this story it was so raw and emotional. It follows Charlie and her husband Cameron who are drifting apart in their marriage after a very heart breaking few years but then Reece comes back into Charlies life the boy she loved when she was young and he makes his feeling to her known in a big way. So Charlie has to decide who she wants to be with her emotionally absent husband or her old friend who says all the right things. she decides that she will give her husband 2 months to see if they can relight the flame into their relationship. This is a very emotional book and had tears in my eyes a few times . I just could not get enough of the love triangle it was so well written. Jason Clarke plays Reece and he is just amazing I love how he tells a story. Erin Mallon is as ever AMAZING she just does no wrong ever Sebastian York is only at the end of the story but he is great I loved hearing Cameron's side of the story and it gets you thinking. This one ends on a cliffhanger but book 2 is available so I started it straight away. An amazing story how communication in a relationship is so important. A must listen.x

An emotional read
This book is what happens when there’s no communication in a relationship. I liked Cameron even though he had his faults (who doesn’t?) but I’m not sure how I felt about Reese and Charlie. It’s a well written story that’s an emotional rollercoaster at times but I liked it.

EPIC.. EMOTIONALLY RAW AND BROKENLY EPIC
Originally, I was not going to start this Duet because I dislike broken vows and cheating relationships.. however, over and over again this book would subtly make its presence known to me as I trawled Audible hoping to find my next listen.. so eventually I caved and bought it. And, oh.. my.. God am I ever glad I did, because this book was so very everything.. and, as I laid awake promising myself just one more chapter over and over again, I finally realized (at the dawning of a new day) that I had been talking utter poop to myself all night long.
I had been absolutely transfixed as I witnessed how a wife struggled to hold on to the empty husk of her marriage which was slowly crumbling because only one of them had been trying. I was utterly hooked as an old love resurfaced, lit a new fire in the shell of the girl he had once walked away from and breathed hope into whispered words of second-chances. I too fell in love with the caring, kind, thoughtful man who had grown from the teen she once knew and only he saw how emotionally empty and exhausted she was. Then this very talented author completely knocked me off course as she cleverly stirred the pot by finally giving me the husband*s POV and, at this point, nothing could have torn me away from the heartbreaking chapters as the dam holding back years of grief, loss, hurt, anger, devastation, heartache, regret, hope and helplessness finally burst with its heavy load. There were pain-filled words.. and pleas.. and promises.. and a tentative treaty was struck as a Phoenix rose from the ashes, spread his wings and prepared for war.
Worth a credit? Oh boy YES spectacular storytelling.. a gripping and emotionally charged plot as uncharted chapters concealed and slowly revealed their hidden gems.. and a cliffhanger ending that promises much more heartfelt anguish to come. Erin, Jason and Sebastian WERE the three characters they each played.. with their tender vulnerabilities, their torn emotions, their deep sorrow, their tentative hopes and their heart*s hurdles coming through clearly.

Well written
FIRST OF ALL, if you haven't read/listened this book yet, DO NOT, I repeat, DO FREAKING NOT look at the blurb for the spin off (book 3) that is included in the series list with this DUET. That's right, DU-freaking-ET, meaning two. The blurb gives the entire ending away for this duet and although it is still good to see how they got to the ending, knowing ahead of time which of the men she will choose is not cool.
4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this book. I liked how well written it was and that even though there was cheating and such, it was done in a heart wrenching way. I really felt for Charlie in her situation. When I finished, I was almost not wanting to continue to book two to find out how everything turns out....Almost.
Audible: I added the whispersync audible narration to this kindle book. There were three narrators. One for each POV. The male narrators were totally fine. They had nice voices and were easy to listen to. The female narrator was...unique. I had to restart the book multiple times because I had a hard time getting used to her voice and I was a bit dumbfounded. She was very breathy and almost moan-y sounding. She legit sounded like an adult actress. Once I got used to her voice, I was able to listen to her just fine, save my smirks each time her POV chapters started again. Especially since it was the most prominent when she was saying "Charlie" at the beginning of each of her chapters. All that aside, I enjoyed the audio well enough.

Don’t waste your money
I could barely get through this story! The female narrator has one of the most annoying voices that I’ve heard. The story was boring, the narration was horrible, and let me add the ending is a huge cliff hanger!! Honestly, I could care less about getting the second book in this series, I don’t care about finding out what happens in this miserable love triangle!

A Love Triangle with all the Feels
This was my first time reading Author Kandi Steiner and I’ve heard so much positive feedback about her work. Now I know why!!
This book was fantastic. Emotional, relatable, angst filled.
All the feels I look for in a romance.
Charleigh and Cameron have been together for over a decade and their marriage has been through more than any couple should have to endure so when a blast from the past steps into their lives reminding Charleigh what it feels like to be alive again, she can’t resist Reece and all his charm.
This is part one in a Duet so it ends in a cliffhanger but book 2 is already out and it’s so worth the read.
I listened to this on audio and highly enjoyed the narrators, Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke. Sebastian York even makes an appearance giving this story the added element of multiple point of views.
Highly recommend!!

Both Books Were Amazing
They tear you from one emotion to the other, but they are well written and if I was one to re-listen to audiobooks, these would be on that list.
My one and only complaint is the female reader. She did better over time, however, something about the way she breathes out and almost huffs after every single sentence is annoying and she really should work some more on stopping. She did get better over the length of the book and I was slowly able to ignore it, but it is really a major annoyance in listening to her parts.
As for the duet narrations, I LOVE duets, and they are my absolute favorite and always will be. They help me fell the words and emotions and there is nothing better. I wish more audiobooks were done this way.

Hot emotional roller coaster ride.
Be prepared to spend 2 credits going into this emotional journey because you'll want to know how it ends.
This concludes with unmade decisions and I have a feeling no one will come out emotionally unscathed. With two men hanging in the balance, it's up to Charlie to decide what direction her life will take. From the awesome writing to a dream team of narrator's this was one credit worthy listen.

Wow!
Just a fair warning I wouldn’t recommend listening to this in public. I cried throughout this book. This story just completely broke my heart. I know the cheating aspect may turn readers off but there is just so much more to the story, so I recommend giving it a chance. You truly feel and can understand everyone’s side of the story. It is not black and white story.
Your heart will break for all of these characters who are all going through something and trying to find peace.
The narration was superb! Honestly probably elevated the story with all the emotion.
I can not recommend this book enough. I am ready for book two!
