Summary

Master storyteller and essayist C. S. Lewis here tackles the central questions of the Christian faith: Who was Jesus? What did he accomplish? What does it mean for me?

In these classic essays, which began as talks on the BBC during World War II, Lewis creatively and simply explains the basic tenets of Christianity. Taken from the core section of Mere Christianity, this book provides an accessible way for people to discover these timeless truths. For those looking to remind themselves of what they hold true, or those looking for a snapshot of Christianity, this book is a wonderful introduction to the faith.

The logical explanation of Christianity

I’ve never heard C.S. Lewis speak about Christianity, I only knew he was a bright guy. This short explanation of Christianity is quite impressive and explains why from a logical perspective that Christianity is the most probable explanation of our world. We’ll worth a listen.

The logic of Christianity

Lewis takes you through the logic of Christianity and compares it to atheism and other religious beliefs. Well worth a listen to

Powerful

C. S. Lewis was a brilliant and convincing writer. The arguments he makes here are genuinely compelling. However, the logic doesn't quite hold up.

Rebellious - Repentance - Righteousness

As a Redeemed Christian, I am so glad I came across this book. I have learned of ways to help those willing to listen to sound reasoning about Who was Jesus, Why he came to die and What I believe as Believer.

Notable Points:
👉🏽Humans are not damaged creatures to be fixed but rebellious creatures that need to lay down their arms.
👉🏽Jesus came as God to do what only the ABSOLUTE can do.
👉🏽It’s a foolish and patronising statement to say that one accepts Jesus as a good moral teacher, He is either who He said He was and Is or a lunatic.

“I have come that they may have life in abundance…” John 10:10

May this book minister to your understanding💝

The Truth

As someone who has recently been found by Jesus, this resonates with me so much. Please listen to this. Have an open mind, an open heart and let Christ in. He’s waiting.

I knew this was something of value to read

And it was! C.S.L. Is a most thoughtful and diligent analyst of life and how we perceive it. My faith needed a boost as the world around is such a weight on ones shoulders. I recommend you dispense with the competition and consequent aggression that trying to conform to what others say entails in your daily struggle, rise above it and read scripture and Live!
