About this listen
Augustus knows that a wife and family can never be more than a dream for him. His former fiancée made that perfectly clear when she left him before he had even recovered from the surgery to amputate his leg.
Yet, 10 years later he agrees to marry Charlotte when she is left widowed and pregnant on the trail west.
Augustus is immediately taken by the beauty and charm of his new wife. He is even more enchanted by the idea of a child in his home. He assures himself that his missing leg won't matter in their marriage as long as he can keep her away from his heart. And his bed.
Augustus' plan seems to be working until Charlotte gives birth to a stillborn child. In her grief, she begs Augustus to give her the child her heart desires.
Can he let go of his past long enough to put a baby in the womb of the woman he is quickly coming to love?

Fairly typical for the genre
Wedding the Widow by Jane B Night

Narrated by Felisha Caldeira.
I found this book fairly typical of the genre in most respects. A nice, sweet romance with no graphic sex scenes or bad language. The characters were likeable, the plot and setting believable and the story flowed well. It's not a particularly fast paced story and there are a fair few flash backs but those are done well enough that I wasn't left confused and wondering what time frame we were in at any point.
There are two love stories intertwined in the book and personally I'd have preferred to have had them split into two separate books so we could have had a bit more detail about each couple. Or perhaps a 2 book series with the details fleshed out a bit more. But both romances were well done and neither was really lacking, I just like a bit more detail about the characters, their lives and how their relationships grow over time.
I thought the narrator was very good. She did a good job of bringing the characters to life and of telling the story in general. Would definitely listen to more by the same narrator as well as reading more by the author.
