Adequate

It's easy for twist based stories to feel pretty much pointless up to the point where the twist takes place. SPOILER, hard to sympathize with a character you think should end up in jail.

Awful rehash of a Shyamalan trope

[Spoilers] Bruce Willis in Sixth Sense. Not worth my time. Skipped to the end once it was made clear. And took too long to get there. Nothing happened for the first half of the book

Awful

I've listened to over 40 audiobooks in the past 3 months, and this is by far the worst. Don't waste a credit on this!

Not for me

I do t get the hype with this, I’m afraid. I spent lots of it thinking, someone just tell her what happened and let us be over with it. Felt the performance was a bit melodramatic in places. I didn’t really bond with many of the characters. Disregarded the twist for being too obvious. They are better books out there to listen to.

Heartbreaking

Absolutely great read. Privilege, racism, the American dream, generational wealth. It’s a slow simmer then hits you in the gut at the end.
