Summary

When Quinn was told he was deemed fit to learn magic as an apprentice, he didn't know what to expect. He certainly didn't expect to be plunged into a world of politics, demons, monsters, petty drama, and angry primordial deities, all while being guided by an off kilter, rant-happy warlock, who has more secrets than Quinn has problems. Nothing he can't handle, right?

Feels More Like Young Adult

I actually don't like the term Young Adult but then I can't come up with a better term, it just sounds condescending when it's not meant to. However, lacking anything better that's how this one felt to me, Certainly more so than it felt like epic fantasy which is what Audible have it listed under, there's more to epic than just length of a series.

There's nothing hugely wrong with it, the narrative and narration breeze along nicely enough but I didn't feel there was anything here that I either found hugely funny or strong enough that I could get my teeth into.

I'm sure it will suit others but certainly not this old curmudgeon.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
