Summary

Napa Valley land heiress, Lola Langthorne, finally meets her match (and then some) when French billionaire Alexander de Sauveterre moves in next door.

The high-rolling businessman and international playboy needs one last piece of land to complete his California wine estate - a “bit” of the legendary Langthorne vineyard adjacent to his new acquisition. Lola Langthorne’s “bit” to be exact, and he’ll stop at nothing to possess this little slice of viticultural heaven.

The Langthorne family saga continues with Tobias and Lina’s wild and rebellious daughter. Strong-willed and stunning as her father, with a colorful vocabulary to match, the grapegrowing “Cabernet Queen” fights the dashing jetsetter tooth and nail to protect her cherished birthright. She’ll make this carpetbagger in crisp linen pay dearly for admiring her “bit” of land instead of her female “bits”. She’s Lola Langthorne after all, an outrageous beauty in her own right, if a little rough and dusty around the edges. The foul-mouthed spitfire sets out to best her silver-tongued adversary, but is undeniably attracted to the elusive Alex, a charismatic and compelling figure who is much more than he seems.

Now the ornery lady farmer and confirmed bachelorette finds herself falling for the very same man who plans to take everything from her.....

Like Father, Like Daughter

Book 2 in the series. I cracked up with Lola’s character and I enjoyed listening to her mature throughout the story. I did get a little frustrated with the stubbornness of the characters. Just like in the first story it still had a lot of time left when you thought it was about to be over. Logan is an awesome voice actor. I can really get into the story when he is reading it to me.

Worth a Credit

I didn't read the first in this series but I honestly didn't feel like I was missing anything. I loved Lola and her characters progression throughout. I'd recommend this to a friend. Logan McAllister has a seriously sexy voice. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard his Lola voice. I worried I wouldn't be able to tell the difference from male to female because he has a fairly deep voice but that wasn't an issue at all.

Hot, Messy and Delicious!

A potty mouthed princess, a French aristocrat, instant tension (though it is initially unclear whether the tension is filled with attraction or repulsion), Book 2 of the Langthornes of Napa Valley series certainly has lived up the expectations set by the first book.

We initially meet Lola Langthorne as a baby in Book 1, though this book is entirely stand-alone. The main relevant bit of information from the first book worth noting is that Lola is her father's carbon copy and his pride and joy. He may have spoilt her a little. 22 years old, confident of her sexuality, newly graduated and traveling in Europe with her best friend, in a moment of drunken stupidity, Lola gambles away her inheritance, a prized piece of Langthorne land. Unbeknownst to her, her land is now owned by her hated French neighbour, Alexander de Sauvetere who opts to keep Lola on as the manager of his newly acquired vineyard. The two drive each other crazy, her with her penchant for swearing and him with his monogrammed everything. Lola embarks on a mission to get her land back in the most convoluted way while Alex's intentions are a mystery.

Tessa Bowen is a fabulous storyteller. Her books are adventurous, edgy, sexy, humorous, messy and very difficult to put down. I loved listening to this book and find myself still on edge. I am looking forward to the third book in the series which promises to be just as full-bodied and voluptuous as wine made from Langthorne grapes is reputed to be!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

A Chip Off the Old Block

This is the second book of the Langthornes of Napa Valley series and while I don’t think it is necessary to read the first one prior to this, it was interesting to think of Lola as a female version of her father at a young age. In the first book you really only hear about some of Toby’s exploits. Here you get to see Lola in action. Just like the first book, I loved every second of it.

This is a love story, a heartwarming story, and a bad girl story all wrapped into one. I was a bit frustrated at times by the number of F-Bombs, but that is part of Lola’s charm. And Alexander de Sauveterre has such a long names that at times when it was being repeated it seemed redundant, but anything said by narrator Logan McAllister sounds steamy, so it’s a very small frustration.

Once again a great paring of a great author and a wonderful narrator. I recommend the entire series!

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

Another great book by this author

I enjoyed this installment in the Langthornes of Napa Valley. It was very entertaining listen. I enjoyed the main characters and how they played off each other. I liked that Alex challenged Lola and the fact that he inspired her to be better. She was quite the spitfire and was confident in her skin. I liked that Alex rocked her world and made her look at things differently. Once again I enjoyed listening to the narrator bring them to life. I will definitely be looking to listen or read more of this authors books. I would also be delighted to listen to another book read by this narrator.

Napa Valley verses Provence

Yet another great romance from Tessa Bowen, set in America and France. Lola a strong willed woman American and Alexander an upper class French man. Let the battles of dominance commence. Language not suitable for sensitive ears, but a great book to get into. Well written and preformed.

Funny and Fun

This book was hilarious. I loved Lola's character she was spunky, stubborn and a little reckless. Alexander was the perfect match for her. I also loved the banter between the two of them it made for a very funny read. Such a great story.

Enemies to lovers

Valley Fire is the second book in the Langthornes of Napa Valleys series and quite an enjoyable listen. The storyline is thoroughly engaging, two headstrong characters, Lola an heiress and Alexander a French billionaire coming together. It was fascinating to listen to these two enemies admit to their attraction and fall in love. The chemistry between the two is fiery and their bantering, witty. Lola's personality is wholly entertaining, the woman has no filter.

Tessa Bowen takes her readers/listeners on a ride through a turbulent romance, consumed with twists, turns, ups and downs. Logan McAllister's performance is excellent. He does an exceptional job representing both characters. Overall, this audiobook was lots of fun, and I enjoyed it.

"Has Humor, Passion, Romance & A Crazy HEA"❤🍷❤ 🥧

I enjoyed listening to "Valley Fire: An International Billionaire Romance" written by Tessa Bowen. This is Book 2 of (The Langthornes of Napa Valley.) There was so much humor throughout the chapters of this novel and Lola (FU****) Langthorne was responsible for the majority of it.

Ms. Bowen, You wrote the PERFECT STORYLINE for Lola; a spitting image of her father's file mouth. She may have the beauty of an Amazon Goddess, but you would swear she was a sailor with all the profanity that comes out her mouth.

Alexander de Sauveterre wasn't accustomed to women like Lola so forward, pushy, and rough. Although he found her to be very attractive, that's what drew him to her prior, if only he could tape her mouth closed and make her more of a lady they had a chance. The way Lola went after Alex was especially humorous, it was SIMPLY PRICELESS!

The way Ms. Bowen ended the novel was different from most endings but I liked it. I still got my HEA so that made me very happy.

Logan McAllister was again the narrator for Book 2, so that made him familiar with the Series. He did a PRISTINE JOB with all the vocal roles. I would recommend this Series to others.
