Summary

An intoxicating new romance by Alexandria House - available in audio first!

Stable, safe, predictable - all words that aptly describe Professor Nadia Day’s life. An existence she’s carefully crafted for herself despite her unconventional upbringing and what, to her, is an unseemly past. More than anything, she wants to forget her unstable history, and the last thing she would ever do is rock the boat when it comes to her life and livelihood.

When retired football player and single dad, Nathan Moore, walks into her psychology classroom, all fine and dreadlocked, he does more than rock her boat - he rocks her world and causes her to question her buttoned-up existence.

Will the professor give in to her desires and become a student of love?

Teach me more please

Not only was this laugh out loud funny, the light BDSM element was a surprisingly welcome twist. The cameos made my AH loving heart happy and the audio was OUTSTANDING. The story gets a full extra star for the audio narration alone. Nadia is a university lecturer who has been through a whole lot in her life and her family is..unique. Nathan is a former NFL playing single dad who's trying to finish his degree after his career. I would happily listen to Jakobi Diem talk all day every day so I will for sure be listening to this series again and I loved how this was full of representation and none of it was even questioned. It was just there and I love when books do that. But it's not entirely drama free. There's a lot of action in this and some of it isn't entirely resolved by the end. Even still, I LOVED this. TW: Death of a parent, alcoholism, drug use, abuse and neglect, suicide, gun use, school shooting drill, active shooter on a campus, stalking.

Sexy and fun

I enjoyed this story and thought it was skillfully performed by the narrators. At points it erred on the side of a straightforward 'romance' novel, which I normally wouldn't read. But I was captivated by how shamelessly sexy it was, and thought the sex scenes were actually fantastically well-written, with the female character allowed to be self assured and empowered, yet highly feminine. There are also many great elements of positive BIPOC representation here which I really enjoyed and took into my heart. The main characters' cheeky interactions made me laugh out loud at times too.

A brilliant story

A really enjoyable listen , very good narration. Their voices are perfect for these characters, and their chemistry is always on point. The story in itself is outstanding realistic and completely engaging. The narrators make it even better with a fantastic representation of the characters.

Jakobi Diem's voice will melt you like chocolate!

I am happy to see more black love stories on this site. I love the cover! I am so glad the community really enjoyed this book.

The first half of this book was a smooth love story. I loved listening to this man court this woman. His pursuit was thoughtful and elegant. The narration was on point. I can visualize Nathan right now! Jakobi's voice will melt you like chocolate. I mean he really put it down.

But unfortunately, things went from romantic to hectic about halfway through. It felt like the author threw in every unused story line she had in her bucket list. The story went from man seeking woman and then jumped into the Twilight zone.

There is a:
• Dead Fiance'
• Dead Baby momma
• Deaf child
• Autistic child
• Sex Therapy Mother
• Sister falls in love with half brother
• Sister sleeps with bestfriend ex
• Hostage situation
• Momma falls dead
• Another momma has stroke
• Drug addict baby momma
• Stalker situation
And more... all in the second half!

In Chapter 27 - Nadia begs Nate not to dump her. It was a bit pathetic. We flaunt a story with a strong black woman but this section of the story didn't fit.

In addition, I wasnt feeling how the southern characters were portrayed.

The story just went in a totally different direction in the second half. I was in love and then crazy came out.

I am glad there is such a positive response to a black romance. The extra stuff just turned me off.

2 Stars 🌟🌟- Decent story.

Ms House knows she can write her behind off

and in case she didn't, she does now! GO ON GIRL! The narration was on point as usual, but if they don't have something good to read, it cant stand up on it's own. Pretty sure I yelled out some cuss words listening to this one. So SO proud of you! Keep doing it!

Brilliant! Good move Audible

I just want to begin by saying that I'm pretty sure I've read/listened to most if not all of Ms. House's books and Teach Me is absolutely one of her Best!
Audible hit a slam dunk with the selection of an 'Original' with her.

Without giving away too much *because you Should Definitely* use that credit and listen to Teach Me, I just want to hand-clap the ingenious and unassuming way Ms. House connected some stories and gave me something I'd been hoping for since I came across the McClains. Order this book, you won't be sorry!!
And who couldn't love a mother like Mommy. So, So, So, SO Good Ms. House!
I want some of that OIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus the narrators, two of my Favorites! Jakobi and Adenrele did it Again! Those voices together, whooooo

Funny and surprising

You have to read the other books to love the cameos in this one but it can be a stand alone book too. I really laughed out loud and felt the storylines. There is nothing like a good book on a rainy day. Alexandria did a good turn with this one.

Ms. House Can Do No Wrong!

Another fire listen by Ms. Alexandria House! And as always, Jakobi and Adenrele performed their butts off!

Nate and Nadia were so cute AND HOT! The steamy factor was through the roof!

I also loved the connection to the McClains. Uncle Lee came and showed out, as always!

Another winner

I love that you always connect at least one character from a previous book. This one you had several, but you made Nadia apart our favorite.
The exploration of BSDM in the Black community is rarely explored loved.
