Summary

Banks Huntington has always been a family man. After his wife’s tragic death, he’s holding on tighter to the only thing he’s got left. His son.

Lamise Kelly walks into Harper Security Ops desperately hoping for a job. Working in a place filled with men who could see she remains unharmed is the perfect solution to all of her problems. Only, they’re not hiring.

For the first time in months, something stirs in Banks’ chest at the sight of Lamise. He wants to deny it, but he can’t. Refusing to let her walk away, Banks offers her a different kind of job.

Becoming a nanny wasn’t what she’d had in mind, but Lamise accepts the opportunity.

Following unimaginable losses, the pair attempt to get their lives back on track. But it isn’t long before they find themselves forming an unexpected bond.

Just as things heat up between them, a part of Lamise’s past she believed was gone forever returns.

Banks never expected a second chance. If he wants a shot at forever with Lamise, he’ll have no choice but to confront her past.

Fabulous book

Oh my this story broke my heart but it did put it back together again. But not before we go through an emotional journey with these two courageous people. This story has ups and downs but at the heart, the family that is Harper Security is there. I just couldn’t put this book down from the first page to the last I was hooked. This author just has a way with words. There’s never drama for drama sakes either. The story unfolds at an organic pace and takes you along for the ride. Wonderful book and characters. The audible narration was superb. It really enhances the story.

Banks & Lamise

Audiobook Review

Addison Barnes and Troy Duran really brought Lamise and Banks to life. Both characters have suffered incredible loss and have been struggling to keep going. Their pain brought a little tear to my eye as I can only just imagine how that would feel. When they found each other and were able to seek solace in each other they finally started living.
This book is low on drama and angst but still packs a lot of feelings with two characters that are easy to relate to.
