Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The thoughtful and revealing memoir from one of the world's most recognisable women, renowned for her bold risk-taking, multiculturalism and activism.

I am a product of traditional India and its ancient wisdom, and modern India and its urban bustle. My upbringing was always an amalgamation of the two Indias, and, just as much, of East and West.

Unfinished takes listeners from Priyanka's childhood in India, where she was raised by her grandparents and her parents - two army doctors committed not only to their children but to their careers and to philanthropy - before being sent away to boarding school at an early age, through her formative teenage years in the US living with extended family in the Midwest (Cedar Rapids and Indianapolis), Queens, and suburban Boston, where she endured bouts of racism, to her return to India, where she unexpectedly won the national and global beauty pageants (Miss India and Miss World) that launched her acting career.

Listeners looking for a glimpse into what it takes to succeed in the massive Indian film industry will find it here and they'll also find an honest account of the challenges Priyanka faced navigating her career, both in India and Hollywood. The result is a book that is warm, funny, sassy, inspiring, bold and rebellious. Just like Priyanka herself.

From her dual-continent 20-year-long career as an actor and producer to her work as a UNICEF Goodwill ambassador, from losing her beloved father to cancer to marrying Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra Jonas' story will inspire a generation around the world to gather their courage, embrace their ambition and commit to the hard work of following their dreams.

It’s just ok

Not sure if I would recommend the book to others. I am inspired by Priyanka as a public figure however I didn’t find the book too inspiring, I also feel Priyanka hasn’t been completely truthful about her struggles in her book which would have been very inspiring to read/ hear.

But great effort!

Love it.

I loved reading every bit of this book. The journey is not at all similar to mine, but still the experience has some parts resonate with mine. You are amazing Priyanka, I want my daughters to be fearless like you.
Best wishes to your process of finishing your beloved rooms.

An inspiring listen!

An inspiring listen which I've done over two days! Priyanka shares honestly about her life, her family and her experiences that have shaped her own life and perspectives. A good read/listen for young girls to hear about overcoming barriers and building resilience when things don't always go as planned.

Thank you Priyanka for sharing!

fantastic book

really enjoyed it. got a bit slow at times but priyanka did a fine job with the narration. it's a well written book. you will get to know alot about priyanka as a person and there is some good stuff said about bollywood in the book as well as some ugly side without mentioning any names so people who are looking for controversial stuff you might be disappointed here priyanka is a very clever lady and a great artist. she has a had a great career and after going through this book I respect her alot more as a person. I'm glad she feels a sense of responsibility towards the needy people and does so much for them wish everyone specially the people who can make a massive difference to end poverty were like her.

A nice book but I don recommend spending your time

Nice story, narrated by the author. I did enjoy the book, but I was expecting more of her insightful wisdom to be on display. Maybe I set my expectations too high, because I had followed her career a bit and I always enjoy how smart and youthful her wisdom is, but the book did not deliver for me.

An amazing role model story

You are an amazing story teller, made me laugh and cry. But being an ambitious Indian woman, you inspired me the most. Relieved to acknowledge that I have a role model for life. Love you Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Surprisingly good

I've never really warmed to Prianka Chopra as I used to feel shes too much....always wanting the limelight, needing to be centre of attention, showey etc... However, I have to admit, I really enjoyed her story, and loved how she narrated it herself. It was insightful to learn about her life and all of the things she's done including her work. She's truly a hard working, strong, independent women and deserves every bit of her fame and fortune. Her story is inspiring and beautiful. I would have liked to have heard more about her love story with Nick and life after marriage but the snippet we get is enough to leave you smiling.

An enjoyable read and I recommend it. Nina
