About this listen
A no-nonsense and helpful guide on how to cope with a slew of mental-health issues that are hell-bent on ruining the lives of millions of people worldwide
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in.
With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately to the non-emergencies of everyday life, and to deal effectively with old, or newly acquired, traumas (particularly post-traumatic stress disorder).

off putting presentation, some good insights.
Some useful information. it's more of a treatment options overview. Given the title , it shouldn't have been surprising but the swearing was really quite off putting. I feel if she had expandem her vocabularly, the book could have been more accurate and informative.

Good listen but poor sound quality
The content was great and helped me alot for myself to understand why my brain does what she speaks about. But unfortunately the recording of the sound is poor. It sounds like it been recorded in the spare room of rhe house and echos in places and also you can hear speak over herself from past recordings this was probably due to poor editing.

please rerecord
Excellent content! Easy to understand. Just the audio isn't great - car noises, someone saying "cheerio), echo. If the author could get better microphone and rerecord, that would be great!

The audio might not be Dolby sound but a great book
There’s been lots a reviews about the audio quality and the swearing. I believe it adds to the charm and I just loved how the down to earth language had me gripped. Believe you me! Amazing sound quality does not detract from a rubbish book, unenthusiastic narrator which leaves you bored. This book isn’t that at all…! Five stars!

Great book, awful production.
First off, a lot of people seem to have a problem with the amount of swearing in this book. If you don’t like swearing, why would you read a book that has the word f*ck in the title?
Anyway, this is a great book, I personally have taken a lot from this. The production is bad, it sound like she recorded it on her phone from the bathroom, so not to the usual high standards of Audible but we can’t have everything.
I imagine this is what a psychology book written by Carmela Soprano would be like. A real no nonsense, thoroughly informative and wonderfully sweary tour of common mental ailments and how we can rewire our brains so they don’t dominate our lives.

Great but not great editing
Great for understanding, bad on editing (background noises & talking in places with some words cut off slightly) overall great book though
