Summary
The New York Times best-selling author of Big Girl Panties puts a modern twist on My Fair Lady in this funny, romantic confection in which a canny young woman makes over her awkward millionaire client...with some hot, sexy, and surprising results.
Suffocating in a dead-end marriage, Midwesterner Zoey Sullivan fled to New York and moved in with her older sister, Ruth, a carefree, vivacious beauty with a string of eligible bachelors at her beck and call. Giving herself three months in the city to clear her head and find a direction, Zoey dodges calls from her ex Derek and distracts herself by cooking and catering a few private dinners and parties. Pursuing her passion for cooking was never an option when she was with Derek, and now, Zoey relishes her independence.
When Zoey’s meets reclusive millionaire Tristan Malloy, she’s blown away by his kitchen - a marble and stainless-steel temple worthy of the culinary gods - and charmed by his impeccable gentlemanly manners. But despite his firm body, handsome looks, and piles of cash, Tristan - a computer programmer - is shy and more than a little socially awkward. Zoey is sure Tristan has all the right raw ingredients - and she’s the right person to spice them up and turn him into a delectable dish.
But Zoey’s unprepared for just how well her makeover works. Tristan turns out to be even sexier once he’s gained a little confidence and the right wardrobe. Beneath the gorgeous package, Tristan is a great guy who deserves a woman who really appreciates him. Slowly but surely, Zoey realizes she may have found her perfect match - but does Tristan even know how her feelings have changed? Is that warm look in his eyes gratitude for the new and exciting world she’s ushered him into or something more? And what will happen when Zoey’s ex comes to town looking to win her back?

I hate that I am disappointed
It was just too perfect for me but not in a good way. SPOILER ALERT: Seemingly level-headed girl meets rich nerd (who has a very attractive hot side) guy, falls in love and lives happily ever after in paradise. I am so disappointed because her first few books were awesome and engaging. BIG GIRL PANTIES was a little more realistic; big girl, sad past, works her ass off while working with a hot trainer all the while trying not to fart during her workout sessions...
This one for me was too “dreamy.” However, that being said, I like this author and will continue to read her books. This one just missed the mark for me.

Performance needed a male voice
I think this was a really cute story, but feel that it would have been 100% better if the male part had been read by a male. It was very distracting to have such a soft gentle female voice speaking the male parts.

The narrator….
The story was very engaging and drew me in right away. There are always parts of a story that frustrate you but that just shows you’re invested. I do however agree with another review I read before I bought the book. The narrator barely changed her voice for characters and having the male lead sound like a girl took away from the overall experience. Even lowering her voice a little would have made a huge difference. But the writing was fabulous.

Cute Story
This was a quick story with a happy ending. I would recommend it to listeners who just want to relax and let the words wash over their senses. Katie Schorr is a wonderful narrator, and I recommend her to Audible listeners.

Unlikeable characters
The main character Zoe, was weak, cruel and mean. There was no time in the book that I rooted for her. The one sister was manipulative and unlikeable. The only one that was bearable was Tristan. Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe this.

cute, easy listen
predictable but fun. nice break from the crazy world. I see portions of her mother's influence but she can stand on her own.
