Summary
This third book in the beloved Rosemont series finds Mayor Maggie Martin knee-deep in the financial problems facing Westbury. With a stagnant investigation into the fraud and embezzlement that brought the town to the brink of bankruptcy, Maggie needs results - now. The bad guys, however, are always one step ahead, with bribes and blackmail at their disposal.
Her late husband's mistress also has an ace to play against Frank Haynes and his cronies. But the woman's plan for revenge may be derailed by her daughter's sudden illness. Will Haynes slip through the net once again?
Meanwhile, Maggie is busy planning her wedding as Roman forms an unlikely alliance with a litter of kittens. And Rosemont's attic gives up its secrets; some welcome, some not. While Maggie delights in a newly discovered collection of vintage silver, Frank Haynes is on a mission to establish his claim to Rosemont. Surprisingly, his cold heart may not be impervious after all.
Dive in as Maggie seeks her silver lining.

the story builds, along with the suspense
this is the third book in the series; accordingly the suspense is building. Hinske continues developing the characters weaving mystery around the antagonist. Is he evil or not?

OMGosh!!!
Now you've done it, Barbara Hinske! Yup...I'm dying to know what happens next!! Uncovering Secrets: Book 3 in the Rosemont series held my attention from beginning to end. The entire series stays with you long after you are finished. Drawing Close: Book 4 in the Rosemont series will be my next listen! :-) I've written reviews for each of the books in this wonderful series if you would like to read them, so to prevent saying again what I've already stressed over and over, I'll try to make this one short. I cannot recommend the author, Barbara Hinske, and narrator, Dina Pearlman enough. They are absolutely amazing. The series is my favorite of any I have listened to. The writing and narration are equally fantastic, and readers/listeners who are lovers of Women's Fiction will deeply enjoy every book in the series. You must start with book 1, as you will have a deeper appreciation and understanding for the people and events in the books. Barbara Hinske also just released Bringing Them Home: Book 5 in the Rosemont series...it is not YET on audible, but I'm sure it will be soon enough. I rate this book 5 stars, just as I have with the others before this one. I can confidently say you will fall in love with Rosemont and the people of Westbury. This series has everything you could ask for!
Thank you for reading my review. :-)

Uncovering secrets
It seemed like it was too repetitive. and it moved slowly. the problem I had is it seemed too unrealistic. the people are not real. the circumstances are not real.

All the right elements
…to keep me involved and guessing what would happen next! I enjoyed how things like being amused by the antics of kittens, or family getting together after a long separation, are interspersed with the edge-of-the-seat-scenes. Interested enough to go on to book 5? It’s waiting in my library for me!

Didn't advance the story much, mainly filler
This is book 3 of a long series. While still well written and interesting there was very little progress made in this book. Mainly everything we have come to know was repeated and lengthened but zero conclusions on anything. All the same incomplete threads of the story are all still opened. There were a few new storyline drawn, such as Wealer son & his dog; the items found in the attic but now they too are incomplete threads ... and I'm more convinced they are fluff to add color rather than substance. Who knows maybe the next book will give us more answers. I hope so because I'm getting a bit antsy for something to happen in over 40 hours of listening.
