A different telling

A new Uncharted story, read by the voice of Uncharted, Nolan North.
If you can accept it’s just a different version of how some of the characters met each other, it’s absolutely brilliant as it’s own thing.
I couldn’t stop listening and could picture everything clearly happening, just like the epic scenes in the games.
Amazing, will definitely listen to this several times.

Excellent novelisation

I won't lie - I only got this because I wanted to listen to Nolan North read out an Uncharted book. The movie itself wasn't perfect but I liked it for what it was, and S.D. Perry did an excellent job putting it into words. I could imagine the movie scenes clearly and Nolan North as always, was great at doing the audio version.

Better experience than the movie

I really enjoyed this audio book. The fact that Nolan North is the narrator makes is even better! Even if you didn’t like the movie you’re probably gonna enjoy this. Cause who wouldn’t want to listen to Nathan Drake narrate himself

Classic Nathan Drake

The official novelization of the Uncharted movie is an absolute blast in audible format, narrated by the one and only Nolan North, the famous treasure hunter, infamous thief and orphan Nathan Drake himself!
As you well know, I love the Uncharted series of PlayStation exclusive video games. I dare to say that these adventures will always remain in my top five franchises of all times.
Although Nathan Drake is clearly inspired by iconic characters such as Dr. Jones from Indiana Jones and Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, he can stand tall between the two, with his head raised and that cocky smile upon his face. S. D. Perry has written a classic Uncharted tale!
The author treats all the characters with the respect they deserve and the novel reads like the epic adventure these beloved characters live. As always, there’s a treasure, there are bad guys, there are a lot of fights, secret mysteries to unravel and also Nathan‘s search for his brother. The writing is good, the action moves fast and it’s clear that we are in for a roller coaster of unfortunate events right from the start, when Drake wakes up hanging upside down from a plane.

Nolan North is the only voice actor who could have pulled this one off and he does it with style! The narration is excellent, the voice acting is full of enthusiasm, humor and life, while all the already trademarked sentences will be there at every step to bring a knowing smile upon the listeners' lips.
Nathan Drake is only one and his voice is Nolan North, although most probably the movie will not impress too many fans, I think that this audiobook will satisfy our need for a new adventure in the Uncharted universe, and maybe, who knows, a fast-paced and entertaining series of novels.

I hope that you found this review interesting and will consider leaving a helpful vote below. Thank you! Take care, stay safe, and don't forget, always listen with your heart.

A Riveting Read

From the intense prologue to the good character work, funny banter, real emotion, and exciting action the video game series is notable for, Uncharted delivers the goods for a fun and easy 9 hour listen. S.D Perry has done her homework in the best way possible. And Nolan North’s performance is dynamite! Give this a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Great Narration; Decent Story; F-Bombs galore

First, the good. Nolan North is (expectedly) great in his narration. While he excels at capturing Drake’s personality, he also does well with the other characters and text.
The story is decent. A few predictable twists, and few less predictable, but it will keep the listener mostly entertained throughout.
On the other hand, it feels like the author has little knowledge of the characters already established backstories and personalities. Granted, she’s writing within the confines of a movie novelization.
It was also a curious choice to drop the F-bomb as often as she did. For a book based upon 4 video games and a movie rated T and PG-13 respectively, the fluent profanity would’ve warranted an M/R rating in other media.
All said, it was moderately entertaining listen, with a great performance, though certainly not the same characters we’ve known for years. Adjust your expectations accordingly.

Sic Parvis Magna, Drake narrates Uncharted

A good companion to the movie, it fills in some blanks that were glossed over in the final cut. And the use of Nolan North as narrator helps make it really feel like Uncharted.

Very Heart Felt Read ❤️

I played all the games of Uncharted from PS3 to PS Vita to PS4 and again on PS5 . Grew up with the Nathan Drake story from the beginning to the end. Making this story a wonderful read , especially with the original cast of Nathan Drake voice himself (Nolan North). a huge goosebumps WOW to the read. If SD Perry write more into Uncharted , definitely keep Nolan North to read them all into the Uncharted series . The video games were an emotional ride all the way and now this audible book brought back the emotional journey in wonderful ways with Nolan North reading it. A must listened for Nathan Drake fans . If continue story with the other characters from Uncharted as main character instead, definitely get the original voices to read them , the one who played Elaina, Chloe, Cassiely and more. Their voices will enhance the read with goosebumps too. “Sic Parvis Magna” Greatness From Small Beginnings, this small book can continue to many more to come for great reads and listens for. Especially the listen part touch my heart with goosebumps . SD Perry thank you , Nolan North thank you Audible thank you

Yup, this’ll do.

I’m just a really old former gamer guy. I don’t go to movies anymore: too much agenda.. and nope, haven’t seen this’ne either. But on a whim of nostalgia I jumped at the chance to listen to Nolan North recount another totally impossible adventure of Nathan Drake.

And. I. Loved. It.
