Summary

Paul Scofield, Siobhan McKenna and John Neville perform Twelfth Night. This is Shakespeare's comedy of gender confusion, in which a girl disguises herself as a man to be near the count she adores - only to be pursued by the woman he loves.

Average

I just wish some Shakespearian actors would stop warbling in some sonorous tone and speak properly. It's tiresome to hear them deliver their lines with sooo muuuch meeeeaning. ugh.

Poor Performance

Whispering and then shouting is a nightmare when trying to listen on a train. You can't hear the whispering and the shouting hurts your ears. I would avoid if I was you

Excellent but...

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Excellent full cast radio play. I'd recommend it.

Any additional comments?

I wonder how is it possible that only 3 actors participated in this full cast radio play are mentioned here at audible??? How Audible can sell this recording without mentioning wonderful Vanessa Redgrave who plays Olivia??? and other actors. Even the date of recording is not mentioned. This is not the way to sell legal non-pirated recordings for considerable price.

Loved it

Great story - and well done. The characters were well cast and made the play come alive.

Brilliant!

What made the experience of listening to Twelfth Night the most enjoyable?

The performers were absolutely flawless. They gave life to these characters through sound alone and that is so hard to do. Executed perfectly!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Feste because though he is the "fool" of the play, he carries much wisdom in his words.

Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?

I wouldn't be able to choose. They all did such a splendid job with the performance.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it definitely was.
