Summary

Strange things are happening in Prosper Woods, California. Ever since moving here a few months ago, my life has turned upside down. Some things have been amazing, like falling head over heels for Vincent Lasco, a gorgeous 700-year-old vampire. Other things have been weirder than I could ever imagine.

I’ve learned a fundamental truth about myself. Needless to say, it came as a massive shock. Of course, most of the town residents have quirks of their own. Let’s just say, nothing is boring about this bizarre place.

Supernaturals flourish here!

Falling for Sheriff Romeo Harmon wasn’t something I expected when I relocated to a quiet town in the sequoias. He makes me happier than I’ve ever been. He’s kind and funny and honest to the core, just the kind of man I used to be, centuries ago.

I have a new lease on my very long life. Things could go on just the way they are, but there’s something I’ve been asked to do before that happens. I need to help Romeo find a sweet little boy and finally lay him to rest.

Who knew ghosts could have broken hearts?

Vincent and Sheriff Romeo are my chance to find peace, at last. I’ve been waiting for someone to notice I’m gone for a long time. Until the vampire showed up, I wasn’t sure anyone could help. All I want to do is move on to the next step...and I really need to rest.

Vincent and Romeo, you’re my only hope.

The adventure continues...

This book dives deeper into Blue's story, the ghost who made himself known to Vincent. As they resolve that mystery of what happened to Blue, Vincent and Romeo have other things going on too. Well Prosper Woods could never be accused of a boring place.

What I love about this story is that through it all, Vincent and Romeo are a united strong front.

That ending though.. I'm looking forward to listening to the next book!

John Solo's narration is on point, very consistent throughout the series.

Something's coming

I knew I was going to love this series after reading book one and this book confirms that. I love the relationship between Romeo and Vincent that just keeps getting stronger in this book. The town of Prosper Woods has some great characters and just like with a paranormal Twin Peaks they are all over the map with their quirks and secrets. Some strong bonds are forming in this entry, but it's clear from the ending they will all be tested and some will probably break in the next book. Can't wait to see how this all shakes out. Again, John Solo does a superb job with this series. He gave me all the feels with Romeo and Vincent and he is scary as all get out as the danger toward Prosper Woods and its citizens comes closer.

Vincent and the Sheriff going strong

The story goes on with Vincent and Romeo, coming into powers and investigating murders. There’s a lot going on with the ghost kid and the notes from the editor but their relationship blossom and so do Sam and Greg’s. It’s still interesting while some attitudes seem to be off putting. As always John Solo brings the author’s words into life.

So Many New Revelations.

MM, Paranormal, Mystery, Suspense, Romance. Another awe-inspiring book in the Prosper Woods series, needs to be listened to in series order for maximum enjoyment and full understanding as the stories follow on from each other. Non stop action throughout with wit and humour throughout. These books just keep getting better, with another fantastic narration by John Solo. Highly recommend this series.

Patricia Logan does it again

What a fantastic book, narrated By John Solo who captures the characters and makes them jump from the page.

This book is the 3rd in the series (although it says book 2, there is a prequel True Knight, which is important to read before starting the series).

As with all her books Patricia Logan has a fantastic way of weaving together a series of plot lines.

Set in a paranormal backdrop both the mc have very different powers, come together with such love abs heat. They struggle to fight battles from all sides whilst trying to help the poor damaged ghost of Blue who has been attacked and killed by unspeakable monsters and dumped where no one will find him.

Vincent and Romeo and there friends put everything on the line to rescue Blue from his living hell so that he can find peace. Can’t wait for True Prince.

Some big reveals

So I’ll start with stating I wasn’t really feeling the Vincent/Rome storyline this time around. They’re interactions were almost always sex and we just didn’t get much character development outside of that. So if that’s what you’re in it for, you may be disappointed. HOWEVER this book had so many other great things about it. I just adore Greg and Sam and love the way their story is playing out. They both deserve love and it’s definitely on its way. All the little mystery subplots were well written and interesting and just kept me into the story even when I felt overloaded with the time spent between the sheets. Then it ends with a straight bombshell being dropped and I’m super excited to where it goes next! I’ll also reiterate that it’s a great idea to pick this up on audio as John Solo’s narration is fun, lively, and entertaining.

True Blue

I think this story was was as Okay as the previous one. This one continues shortly after True Mate ends with Romeo and Vincent helping a little ghost while learning of some of the mysteries of the town and growing their love for each other. There is a bit much that happens in this book and with even more new characters added. I did like the letters to the editor, it's pretty fun.

Good narration!

4 Stars

True Blue needs to be read (or listened to) in order, so you definitely need to read True Knight and True Mate first or you'll be very lost.

This book features several POV's, Romeo, Vincent, Greg, Sam, and one of the bad guys, Sergio. I've never been a fan of having that many points of view in books and I didn't particularly care for it here. Sergio's chapters were especially jarring and some things that happened in them really detracted from the story.

I'm still really liking Romeo and Vincent, especially now that they're living together. They have fantastic chemistry and have settled nicely with one another.

I'm on the fence about Greg and Sam. I liked the idea of them before, but I don't know, I wasn't feeling it all that much in this installment.

While some things addressed in the previous books were resolved, not all were by the end of this book. The book was entertaining, just maybe not as good as True Mate. My favorite parts are still the Letters to the Editor with which each chapter start, they're hilarious!

John Solo did a great job with the narration and while this wasn't my favorite book in the series, it was still enjoyable.

Truth Revealed

True Blue is the second book in the Prosper Woods series and cannot be read as a standalone. The prequel and first book must be read first otherwise you’ll be very confused. I love this series – the worldbuilding is fascinating, and the characters are delightful. I love how protective and fierce both Romeo and Vincent are – they are the perfect match for each other and their love is strong and intense. I like how the author switches the point of view from different characters – I think this gives the story more depth and I find it interesting to see the story through different perspectives. Like the first book, True Blue has a lot of action, a lot of plot development, and a lot of hot sex. It ended with a surprising revelation that makes me excited for the next book in the series to come out.

John Solo narrated True Blue, and like the first two books he narrated in the series, he does a fantastic job. I like how accurate and consistent he keeps all the character voices throughout the series. This makes it very easy to follow along in the audiobook. All in all this was a fun and enjoyable listening experience.

My heart broke for Blue

In the previous Prosper Woods book, we were introduced to Blue the ghost. A child who pleads with Vincent to find him so he can rest in peace instead of being forced to roam the earth. And, of course Vincent is going to help. The 700-year-old vampire has a heart of gold – even if it no longer beats. And of course, he’s going to rope in his partner, the Shifter Sheriff. Romeo’s quest for justice always propels him forward.

Now, Romeo has his own problems as the Sheriff of Prosper Woods. People keep turning up dead. Werewolves are reorganizing themselves. Greg the bartender and Sam his best friend both have their heads up their asses. So what’s a lawman to do? Help search for the resting place of a ghost, of course.

This book brings together the cast of characters I’ve come to expect and a few new ones as well. At the heart of the story is a tragedy that tore at my heart. But I had faith Romeo and Vincent would figure it out in the end – even if that meant enduring and surviving an epic battle in the meantime. Bunny shifters, anyone?

Finally, I had thought this was the final book in the series but a major bombshell was dropped right at the end, leaving open the possibility for more adventures. Can’t wait.

I’ve mentioned John Solo’s narration and it deserves another kudos. Just a great job with such a wide variety of voices. Well done.
