Summary
Would you sacrifice your future... for an uncertain past? Gabriella and Evangelia Betarrini are just two normal American teenagers. Normal - except for the fact that they time travel to fourteenth-century Italy, where they’ve lived in castles, become swept up in historic battles, and fallen in love with handsome knights willing to do anything to keep them alive. They’ve returned with their mother to the present to save their father before his tragic death, and now the family travels back to the place that holds the girls’ hearts: medieval Italy. But remaining there means facing great risk as the battle for territory wages on and the Black Plague looms. Will the Betarrinis truly be willing to risk it all? Or in facing death head-on, will they discover life as it was always meant to be lived?

Full of action
I loved it! There's constant action and angst. It leaves you wanting more without a cliffhanger.

Amazing!! But where is the 4th book and Novella?
I love this series so much!!!! There is a 4th book and a Novella, but I don’t see either of them on Audible. I sure hope they record them. I loved this series so much that I bought the books and the rest of the series in paperback. I HAD to know the rest of the story.

Amazing Story! But one downfall.
The story itself across 3 books is quite well written and read. The ups and downs, the excitement throughout was great to me! The only downfall to me is the conclusion. It's got a great ending, but it's so sudden. I'm left wanting a little more. Maybe that's the intent, maybe she intends to do more later. All in all though - well worth it!

Can't This Series Go on and on?
Wow, my only regret is that there isn't a book 4. Excellent writing teamed with an expert narrator. Bravo! I love the imagination intermingled with history. The storyline makes you cheer for the noble characters and hiss at the villains. Bergren kept me guessing whether Gabriela would win a love that stands the test of time or would she be whisked back to the century she was born in. Excellent series.
