Fantastic continuation of an interesting story

I enjoyed this even more than the first book. The reading is excellent, and while I have a few quibles when the wording the author chose to use (when they use 'gravs' in the book, it means meters per second squared, not multiples of standard gravity), I greatly enjoy the story, and the world building is very interesting.

Story was great in the continued adventures of Michigan, but the presentation by Laura Gallagher, Voice Actress, was amazing, entertaining, engaging, and captured the story … as well as my attention!! Kudos!!! Brava!!! Huzzah!!!!

Looking forward to the next book

This is the sequel to Torchship, but I think it would work well as a stand-alone story. While the first book read like a series of individual episodes, Torchship Pilot flows seamlessly from beginning to end.

I enjoyed following the story of the main characters, delving into the differences between the human nations, and getting a few hints about AI motivations. I plan to read the sequel, Torchship Captain.

The author gave me a copy of Torchship Pilot after reading mentions of Torchship on my blog.

Mismatched narration.

Excellent hard SF writing, lots of blood & guts & blazing rockets, read by a narrator who sounds like she would be ideal reading bedtime stories to small children, who would fall asleep feeling safe and loved, with moon-rays shining on their sweet, smiling faces. A bit jarring.
