Summary

Disappearing was never at the forefront of Audrey Whitman’s desires. However, she felt like she did not have a choice. Escaping what her aunt planned for her was necessary. Propriety, and society be damned! Audrey would, and could never go through with any of it. Happily forever after was far to the west, and far from St. Louis.

Pinkerton Eugene Turner handled numerous murder and theft cases throughout the week. This new case that slid across his paper scrambled desk was new and...alarming. Finding a missing woman, let alone a wealthy heiress, in the vast and untamed America was like finding a needle in house fire.

As Audrey discovers the life she has dreamt about, will she be able to hold onto the fairy-tale whims and thrive on her own, or will society call her back?

Such a sweet story

This is it a story about Aubrey who always did what she was told, but when she was told she had to marry her obtuse cousin that’s where she draws the line. She fakes her own kidnapping to get away and then shuts off to the west. Eugene is a Pinkerton agent what’s the finish this job with a ConMan so he could go and look for a bride he doesn’t want to be lonely anymore. Before you can do that though a lawyer he does work for XM to help find Aubrey Whitman one of the richest areas in America. He reluctantly takes it he doesn’t like rich people at all. Then set sound to find her wall looking for her he is continuously reading her diary and although he thinks rich people are snobby she has things in her diary that makes him think she is not like the others.

I absolutely love the story. I thought it was well written well read in a great book for a Sunday afternoon. I can’t recommend this book enough. If you like historical romance then you’re going to love this book.
