a great tail with twists and turns. Introducing new characters and the tail ties in perfectly with other books in this series.

Lacking
Wilbur Smith books have always painted better scenes and wildlife descriptions than this.
Story was so so, and the baddie motivation not plausible. Main character a bit of a pleb.
I have read every Wilbur Smith book, som several times. This one stretched it for me.
Smith was a man not a brand!

Having been an avid reader of Wilbur Smith for over 40 years, I cannot believe he put his name to this drivel. It is no better than a child’s story and even then, not a good one. I bought this book because a reviewer said it continued the Egypt series that I’ve read several times. I’m sorry to say it does not in any meaningful way follow those wonderful stories. On a positive note, the narrator did a good job with the rubbish he had to work with.
