Brutal Vows is the perfect name for this arranged marriage series! I loved the first book in this duet and could not wait to dive into book 2. I met Alejandro at Cat and Dario's wedding, and even then, he was an arrogant man. He was with Jasmine, and she was saved just in time by the then married Mia. Mia is the daughter of the Capo, a widow from an abusive arranged marriage and is not looking to be married again. Dario has other plans for her, and now promised to Alejandro in the cartel, she is once again placed where she doesn't want to go. All men are like her first husband, right? Alejandro is determined to prove her wrong. While not a good man, he is good to her. But will it be enough to win her heart? Keep her out of danger? Allow him to raise to the top? This one is packed with twists and turns, betrayals and a baby! I loved this exciting romantic suspense. It's original plot, thrilling scenes and sensuality all play into everything I love to listen to. Can't wait for Dante's story!

Marcio Catalano and Lucy Rivers are the storytellers and it could not have be cast better. Catalano pulls out his accents for the mafia and the cartel! His range of voices is amazing, and his take on Alejandro is just how I would imagine him to be. Rivers is Mia, strong willed, angry, frustrated and passionate in all matters, she brings her emotions to the surface even when Mia tries to hide them. These two worked well together, their complimenting voices made the listen a joy to hear.

This is the second book in the Brutal Vows Series, a standalone, arranged marriage, mafia romance. This is a series of interconnected stories. This is another great addition to the series. I love this series! Mia and Alejandro's story is captivating, filled with passion, danger, and twists and turns. Alejandro is enigmatic, handsome, and protective. Mia is sassy, strong, and smart. They complement each other. The world building is captivating. The supporting characters are great. I can't wait for Dante's story. Marcio Catalano and Lucy Rivers did an excellent job bringing these characters, and this story to life. They are perfect as Mia and Alejandro. Looking forward to listening to Bound By A Promise, the next book in the series.

Mia believed that she had done her duty to her family had been fulfilled with the marriage that was arranged. His death was a reprieve from the life she was living and isn’t something she wants to repeat however her brother advises differently.

Alejandro is a powerful man within his family’s cartel, and he wants Mia for more than business reasons. He will be patient and understanding as he shows her what a life between them would entail but nothing is going to stop him from claiming the woman he wants.

The suspense will keep you on edge, the surprises keep coming and the chemistry between them is intense. The narrators did a masterful job of allowing us to see both the ruthless side of Alejandro when it came to business and the softer side when it came to Mia as well as the strength and feisty personality of Mia.
