About this listen

Finding ways to express yourself effectively in tense situations, from negotiations with a potential client to thorny discussions with a colleague, is the key to career success. In this workshop, communications expert Phil Jones shares how three key traits - curiosity, empathy, and courage - have the power to transform any encounter into a meaningful conversation and getting what you want.

You'll explore excerpts from three surprising titles that forever changed how Phil approaches complex conversations - and meet a precocious, telekinetic young heroine; a master of asking the right questions; and a leader who takes off their armor, embraces vulnerability, and leads with courage.

Key Takeaways:

  • Meet in Person: Face-to-face interactions give you surprising insight and power
  • Turn Your Vulnerability into a Strength: Tips for staying open and creating new opportunities
  • Flex Your Empathy Muscles: Simple practices to help you feel across the aisle and disarm the situation
  • Find Win-Wins: How curiosity and “micro-asks” help you get what you want

About the Mentor:

Everyone has something to sell. Phil M. Jones believes we can influence people and get results - all while maintaining our integrity. He’s made it his life’s work to demystify the decision-making process, reframe what it means to “sell” and share communications skills that empower confidence and immediately impact our bottom line. Author of five international best-selling books, and the youngest winner of the coveted “British Excellence in Sales and Marketing Award”, Phil helps leaders and rising stars around the world have brave conversations and get what they want.

Longer than it needs to be but still good content

The beginning is very anecdotal and while it’s a nice story this could be cut down to the final 10-15 mins which were pretty useful. It’s not ground breaking but not to be dismissed either. A relatively enjoyable 30 min listen all in all

Could have been more direct but still great

Great advice. Sped up to 1.40x as I was getting bored with the scene setting stories.

A Comprehensive Guide To Better Conversations

This is a very short but acurate account of an approach myself and other coaches are transitioning towards in order to nurture growth and happiness. No this isn't a liberal lesson on empathy (although empathy is important), it is collection of condensed points developed by the best business and coaching minds and thus worth just under an hour of your time.

The Best 30mins you will invest your time in.

The Storytelling was great and the book sums up everything perfectly. The time the book was done I was wanting more, I will now invest into Phill M.Jones books to see what else he has to offer.

don't waste 1 credit on this unless:

honestly it's a copy of the basic points of how to make friends and influence people , but adding some small stuff too . If you get it by audible plus then it's worth the read , otherwise just spend the 1 credit in the much better life changing book I said in the beginning.

30min Book Review

Poor author who never encountered difficulties promoting 3 other books and pretending like they have a deeper meaning to his success
