Summary

For almost two years now, Kiera’s boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she’s ever wanted: loving, tender, and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together - Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university - everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart.

Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source - a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he’s purely a friend she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes... and none of them will ever be the same.

oh to be a teenager in love!

not for grown ups, compelling as it was to find out if girl got boy or boy got girl, it was an endurance, i would not undertake again!
i found myself shouting at the main character every few minutes, so maybe thats a good thing in a book, sadly i didn't enjoy it.

Best rock star, romance books that I've read.

I've read and listened to the whole Thoughtless series and it saddens me when I read such poor review from people who have not read all 3 books but then write horrible, off putting stuff that will put people off from listening or reading the books.

I accept Kira is an irritating protagonist, but she is immature, and you will most likely hate her in Thoughtless, I did. However, her character develops in Reckless and Effortless, both of which are great books and get better reviews. you'll also learn about Kellan's back story, too.

If you don't like angst, cheating, or rock star romance books, then these books are not for you, but it doesn't make it a bad book.

My negative opinions about this book are that S. C. Stephen's points out too many times that Kira is easily embarrassed about sex and crude language. I'm guessing the author is trying to demonstrate to the reader/listener just how naive Kira is, but it does start to rub you up the wrong way after a while, but I chose to ignore it.

Also, I'm not a big fan of the narrator, but it's tolerable. I just wish whoever chooses the narrators for these books chose better sometimes.

Give it a go. it might be the best romance book you've read, too.

Make your mind up girl!

I hate cheaters so much as I wanted to enjoy this it left a nasty taste in my mouth. I get anst and being pulled in two different directions but letting it go on for so long really made me dislike the main character.

example for those not getting what they deserve

SPOILERS Really the lead character is a manipulative needy boarding on a psychopath. Unable to make up her immature mind on what she wants and wrecking lives because of it. The only marginable likable character is Denny who comes over as a bit of a door mat who is maybe suffering from learning disabilities. The conclusion demonstrates how their are some people in life who despite their actions, never get what they deserve but always come up smelling of roses. The recording of the audio is very poor with constant background noise

Written without thought

I laboured through to the end hoping that there would be a storyline. I have never listened or read a more dreary book, the storyline one girl who thinks she’s average has the choice between two beautiful men and if they don’t fight or have sex, they cry.
Truly dreadful
I had to give one star because there is no option of giving no stars

No matter how many times I read or listen to this book my heart always stutters. The basic emotions you feel in this story are intense. I need a Kellan Kyle in my life!!

What a shocker!

I was really shocked at how good this book really is. Let me say this first, I totally understand why there are so many bad reviews; however, actually the book is not bad... just Kiera (the main female character) is misunderstood.

Quick summary: Kiera is originally with Denny and they move into Kellan's, Denny's friend, house. Denny goes away on a work trip and Kiera starts an emotional affair with Kellan. Kiera and Denny break up and then Kiera sleeps with Kellan. Denny comes back and Kiera goes back to Denny, but wants to maintain the relationship with Kellan as well.

Ok... now what make this book really shine are the characters. Each one is so unique, even down to the members of Kellan's band. Griffin was just great. Kellan is what you would call a "beautiful disaster" and Kiera is like his poison. Kellan actually falls in love with Kiera and throughout the whole book Kellan is trying to get Kiera to basically choose him. I found myself taking Kellan side on most everything that happen throughout the book. I really liked it when Kellan actually called Kiera a whore. That was awesome... !!!

Now, Kiera, even though I totally agreed with Kellan throughtout the book, I felt Kiera was seriously misunderstood. She was in love with Denny but Kellan was like her soul mate or whatever... so she was torn between two guys. I get it somewhat... She didn't want to hurt Denny, I got that... but Kiera was seriously doing some dirt!!!! I found it funny how she always got away with it and Kellan and Denny loved her even more.

I have to say "The slap heard around the bar" chapter was the best intense love/hate fight chapter I have ever read/listen to.... AWESOMENESS!!!!

This was my first Ross narration. I actually enjoyed her narration. She was very good with speeding up and slowing down as the drama and action built. I thought she really expressed Kiera the best, but not so bad with Kellan either. I like when the narrator actually change their voice to show different characters, and I think Ross did well, especially when Kiera, Kellan and Denny was all in one scene. Switching from Aussie Denny to laid back rocker Kellan to whinny Kiera was done really well.

This is a buy/credit. I would do either one. I would buy if you plan to buy the second one too... this will leave you wanting more. If you plan to wait for credits then, it’s a wait... Well worth it.

I wanted to THROTTLE Kiera!!

What would have made Thoughtless better?

If it was:
A. Shorter
B. Kiera had had a spine and brain
C. If it didn't exist at all

What was most disappointing about S. C. Stephens’s story?

The stupid, weak, blushing, sobbing, weak, indecisive and overall infuriating heroine.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Rebekkah Ross?

Yes.

What character would you cut from Thoughtless?

Kiera.

Any additional comments?

Don't read, unless you like weak and annoying heroines that make you want to throttle them...so basically read if you like 50 Shades of Grey without all of the intense sex scenes.

WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLY STUPID AND IMMATURE HEROINE!!

What did you like best about Thoughtless? What did you like least?

I enjoyed the fire between Kellen and Kiera. I could not stand the constant, never ending waivering, indecisive behavior of Kiera. The way this woman messes with this already broken man shows all of Kiera's worst flaws. She had the love of two brilliant and beautiful men but she didn't deserve either one.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I guess I will listen to the next book in the series but only because I am hoping that Kiera grows up a little in the next book.

What does Rebekkah Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

If I had been the one reading the book, I would have stopped after the first few chapters.

Do you think Thoughtless needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Thoughtless has a follow up book and its a good thing otherwise my opinion of Ms. Stephens would be that this is an amateur writter at best.

Any additional comments?

Don't waste your credit on this undeniably frustrating book. The thing is, readers have to like the hero or heroine of a story so they stay interested in the storyline. If we don't think they deserve ANY happily ever after...who cares what their ever after is.

Second Verse Same as the First....

Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens and Narrated by Rebekkah Ross is O.K., but nothing really special. I found it to be extremely monotonous, and longer than necessary. The plot is almost nonexistent. Rebekkah Ross actually did a very good job with the narration, considering the length and repetitive nature of the story.

I am amazed that I stuck it out to the bitter end. I found myself wondering about how much longer it would take to get to the conclusion, which seldom happens to me. I would definitely not listen to this book again, and cannot say that it was/is credit worthy.
Bottom line: Save your credit!

Rollercoaster of emotions

Wow, this one put me through the ringer. Kiera is a young woman who has moved far away from her family with Denny. Denny is the only man she has ever been with and he is her first love. They move in with Kellan. Kiera is attracted to Kellan.Something happens (don't want to spoil the story) and she has sex with Kellan and the emotional rollercoaster begins.

Other reviews think badly of Kiera but I see her as an inexperienced young woman who loves Denny with a young girls love, but loves Kellan with a woman’s love and has no idea how to deal with this. In my opinion this is so similar to situations to life. Life isn’t black or white, its shades of grey and everyone deals with things their own way. Kiera is on the verge of becoming a woman and she loves two men.

This is a great listen. I was on the edge of my seat, knowing what she should do, wondering what she would do. I felt so bad for Denny, Kellan and Kiera. It is so similar to life. I felt like it was a credit well spent.

Noise in the background of the audio

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The voice seems like its coming from a tunnel plus there is this noise in the background of the audio that keeps coming every once in a while

Story is Eh....Audio is terrible

I like Kellen but the character of Kiera is NOT likable at all. I wanted to hit her over the head with a 2 x 4 repeatedly.

I want to find out what happens to the other characters and to Kellen so I'll buy the next one but this isn't my favorite story.

Didn't like the reader at all.

The background in the audio is terrible and very distracting at times. Audible, whether I'm spending a credit or buying with cash, you really should fix the sound.

An Addicting Series

I read Thoughtless, Effortless, and Reckless in rapid succession. It was my first time reading a romance novel, and I was a little wary to start. It was also during a time in my life when I was experiencing personal loss, and desperately needed to escape reality. These books helped me do just that – I was completely absorbed.

It’s a tough call, but Thoughtless might be my favorite of the three. I love the agonizing back and forth between Kiera and Kellan, and their journey to each other. These books are unbelievably addicting – I hope the author decides to write more with the characters. I’ll even take an Anna/Griffin spin-off.

The narration wasn’t quite what I was expecting. The Kiera in my mind didn’t always match up with the Kiera I was hearing, and I would have preferred more “acting.” Nevertheless, I appreciated getting to enjoy this world in another medium. It helped me pick up on a few subtleties I missed the first time.

Thoughtless

The begginning was torture but I sucked it up and was determined to finish this book. It wasnt till halfway threw when I was literally hooked in a good way. I began loving it and getting into this book. Then came the parts where the two main chatectors began doing all this aweful stuff To hurt one another. Kiara is so freaking stupid I still want to punch her. She went inbetween beds of two men and knew it was wrong yet didnt stop her stupidness. She cries way to much and the fact she kept changing her mind in the end was so unbelievably annoying. She was hurting two wonderful men and she actually knew it was wrong and what does she do? She keeps doing it! Plus all the main chatectors in this book are such cry babies. I know all The heartbreak is hard but why did the author make everyOne cry every single second in the end?
This book had it's good moment though like the such passionate moments between Kellan and Kiara were so breathtaking and just amazing. I also loved denny a lot and hated how he gave up so much for Kiara when she was just so stupid about everything. I wasn't rooting for him though for Kellan was my absolute favorite chatector in the book. He is the ideal bad boy/rockstar. He has such a big heart and was just the sweetest thing to kiara. My heart went out I him every single time she went running back to Denny. the ending had me in tears for him. The only thing I didn't like about kellan is how he got back at kiara in the middle of the book and how he cried way to much for my liking. The writing in this book is also beautiful and had me up all night.
I'm not sure if I would suggest this to a friend. It was amazing yet it really does just make you want to slap the main chatectors pratically the whole book. The book will keep you up if you do decide to read It so be ready for the ultimate Love triangle, steamy passion, and stupid chatectors.

BOOOOORING ........

I was bored to tears trying to listen to this book. The narrator I am sure did her best with the story but it was repetitive and just went on and on with no true end in sight. I have to admit that I gave up on reading it close to the end. I just could not take it any more. I will not be reading the other books in the series. Don't waste your credit on this one.
