Story
Serena Mills should be at her wedding. But she’s not. Instead, she’s eating an ice cream sundae and drinking an obscenely large glass of wine in a Harvester off the M25. Everyone thinks she’s gone mad. She’s left the man everyone told her she was ‘so lucky’ to find - because Serena wants to find love. Real love. A love she deserves - not one she should just feel grateful for.

Story
When Indian American journalist Smita returns to India to write the story of a young widow Meena and the murder of her husband, it’s Smita’s first time back since her family left when she was a child. Both Smita and Meena were raised in a culture where a woman exercising a basic human right - the right to love and marry whoever she chooses - is met with brutal punishment. While Meena’s fate hangs in the balance, Smita must reckon with the privilege that becoming an American has given her, as well as face the trauma that shaped her as a child and led to her family leaving.

Story
There is something wrong with Mathilda. She's still reeling from the blow of a gut-punch break up and grieving the death of a loved one. But that's not it. She's cried all her tears, mastered her crow pose and thrown out every last reminder of him. But that's not helping. Concerned that she isn't moving on, Mathilda's friends push her towards a series of increasingly unorthodox remedies. Until the seams of herself begin to come undone.

Story
The inhabitants of the Inventor's Housing Estate keep themselves to themselves. There are the friendly 'Hellos' when commutes coincide and the odd cheeky eye roll when the wine bottles clank in number seven's wheelie bin, but it's not exactly Ramsay Street. The dilapidated community centre is no longer the beating heart of the estate that Becky remembers from her childhood. So the new pottery class she's helped set up feels like a fresh start. And not just for her.

Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing. But it's the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute take a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant Nobel-prize-nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Summary
It's time for a brand-new kind of love story.
Are you ready?
Because Nina Mistry isn't....
Thirty Things I Love About Myself is the exuberant, witty, irresistible, hilarious and unforgettable story of Nina Mistry, who finds herself accidentally locked in a prison cell on the night of her 30th birthday, where she discovers a tatty little self-help book that will inspire her to take a long, hard look at her life, who she really is and what she wants—and to put into action a self-love journey like no other!
This is an audiobook for anyone who has ever had a self-worth wobble or is watching someone they love struggle; it is for anyone who has ever failed and got themselves back up again, or whose life has veered off the tracks. It is the audiobook your best friend would recommend you start listening to right now!
If you love emotionally intelligent, fresh, sophisticated fiction—humour and brilliantly drawn characters mixed with a clever and insightful feminist take on diversity in the media, casual sexism, racism, beauty ideals, online abuse and true self-care—the rare kinds of books that, as soon as you finish, you immediately want to pass on to the women in your life you love most, then you will love Thirty Things I Love About Myself.
Continue listening for an outro from Radhika Sanghani exclusive to this audiobook.

A self help book through a comical story
I loved the different characters and especially Nina's mum. It's thought provoking and covers topics that people can relate to. It was like an Indian Bridget Jones style book with Nina getting herself into all sorts of funny/sad situations.
