Summary
The hunky dad, the hockey coach, and a new start....
Bryson:
Elmwood isn't good for my love life. Hey, I'm a positive person and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about small town living, but I haven't had a date in years. That's fine. My son is and always has been my number one focus.
Except now he's grown and gone. And its lonely.
Okay, yes, the new hockey coach is hot and single, but he's off limits. Smitty's trouble with a capital T, and his baggage might outweigh mine. Besides, we said nothing would happen after that night. It was a one-time, never to be repeated deal.
At least that's what I thought.
Smitty:
Am I sad about retiring from pro hockey? Honestly, no. I cant remember the last time I wasn't in pain. My body needs a rest, but I can't go home. Everything has changed there, and I need a distraction. Stat.
So Elmwood.
Look, we all know I won't last a whole season of coaching high school kids, but stepping in till they find a better candidate is a good temporary plan. And Bryson's here.
There's something about the hot dad with the sunny smile and bad dad jokes that makes me feel alive again. I'm not in the market for forever. Been there, done that. I've risked my body, but I'm not giving my heart away again. I know thin ice when I see it.
Or do I?
Thin Ice is an MM bisexual, small town romance featuring a silver fox dad, the new hockey coach, and a fresh start on solid ground.

I loved Smitty and Bryson
4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
I loved Bryson and Smitty so much.
Nick J Russo did a great job on this audiobook and between Bryson and Smitty's story and his narration I kept listening even when I was supposed to be doing other things.
There were so many emotions for these guys, past hurts, expectations they've placed upon themselves, beliefs about who they are and what they deserve; both of these guys had a lot to navigate before they could really admit to let-alone commit to a proper relationship.I liked that they were older and not in their 20s, they had lots of real life experiences behind them that helped them navigate where they were going once they admitted they were more than just a fling.
I did find Bryson a bit too much to start with when he was trying to tell Smitty he couldn't take a job in 'his' town, but he quickly grew on me as I got to know him. I wish he hadn't worried so much about what others might think of him, he'd have found happiness much easier if he'd allowed people to know the real him, but we all carry baggage and he had to work through his to get his HEA just like Smitty did.
I thoroughly enjoyed Thin Ice and will have to read the previous books now.

light and swoony
What a fun book! I absolutely loved listening to this story. It's light, steamy and soooo swoony. Both MCs are adorable and their bond is amazing.
Great narration by Nick J. Russo
- age gap, single dad, small town, strict bottom/top.

Brilliant character development x
Overall, this book is pretty sweet. I really liked both Bryson and the irrepressible Smitty. They had loads of chemistry, and were extremely hot together, but also super tender from the word go. The guys are so endearing I loved the genuine slow burn of their romance - it's a gradual and well paced relationship with two loveable characters getting to know each other, and liking what they discover. I do like stories written in alternating points of view, it allows you to become intimately acquainted with the MCs, and learn of their hopes and dreams. I liked that when they were together, they encouraged one another to be the best version possible of themselves, they were perfect for one another. I smiled at Bryson's dad jokes, and I just loved Smitty, full stop! I read this in a day - it was totally adorable! I would recommend it to anyone who is in the mood for a comforting, sweet romance, that involves two sweet guys, both family and found family, who cheer them on from the side lines. I absolutely adore this series, Lane writes it with such joy, the books are just the tonic you need if you're having a bad day. The epilogue is just epic. 😊

Fantastic addition to the series!
5 Stars!
I absolutely loved Smitty, he was larger than life and I just wanted to hug him when he finally revealed what had happened with his ex-wife. I really liked Bryson, too, although I was a bit confused at first about him pushing Smitty away when Smitty moved to Elmwood. I understood his motives later, and he grew on me. They were amazing together and had scorching chemistry, but my favorite parts were them talking and being vulnerable with each other.
I wasn't too sure about Jake, Bryson's son, and his antagonism against Smitty, but I was glad they cleared the air and managed to work together.
Nick J. Russo did a fabulous job bringing Smitty and Bryson to life. As always, he managed to inject his narration with a lot of emotion and heart, and his voice is just very pleasant to listen to.
This was a very emotional, spicy, sweet read with very low angst, and a fantastic storyline. I just couldn't get enough of Bryson and Smitty and I have no trouble recommending this audiobook.
