A must read for newcomers to the path!

I am only three hours into this book and already feel compelled to write a review.

I am returning to Witchcraft after practicing as a teenager in the 90s. I feel like a newcomer as so much time has passed, there is also so much more information available due to the internet and social media.

With this in mind, I have already read a couple of books on Witchcraft for beginners and to be honest, although they were informative, they didn't shout out to me. This book shouts loud and clear!

It's aimed at Witches at any stage of their journey. On listening to the introduction, I was a little concerned that the topics covered may be too advanced for me or not feel relevant, as the author claims to help those already practicing to get back on track. I was so wrong. Every chapter so far has had something in it that has interested and inspired to me.

I have bookmarked a number of exercises to try, including how to discover/define my core values and devoting myself to a deity, spirit or the Earth.

I am savouring every moment of this book and am really excited about the next chapter which covers rituals and magic. I will probably buy a hard copy as it feels essential to my growing collection.

Brilliant

couldn't put it down. it was refreshing to listen to something more "real" that even detailed many of the challenges faced by modern witches. I will listen again and probably buy a hard copy. Highly recommend.

Lots of excellent points

This is my second listen and I also have purchased the paperback version. Needless to say that I love it. It picks up witches at exactly where they are on their journey and helps them to deepen their craft. And although the author is wiccan herself, she does a good job at keeping the book accessible non-wiccan witches too.

The narrator has a pleasant voice and does an excellent job of switching tone for different passages.

Excellent witchcraft book

I wish they'd got Thorne to read the book herself. The reader is very emphatic and the first person, anecdotal style feels less authentic performed by someone else.
That said, if you are looking for a witchcraft book, this is really excellent. I'll be buying the physical copy too to better access all the tasks and journal prompts which I did not do on this first listen through.
